Recently we tried out the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich at STACKED: Food Well Built in Thousand Oaks.
The sandwich is “stacked” with a chicken breast that is hand-dipped in buttermilk batter & fried to perfection, then red onion slices, pickles, lettuce & chipotle mayo are added to it. A brioche bun completes the sandwich. My hubby added a slice of cheddar cheese (which melted to a yummy goodness).
The Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich is very delicious & my husband polished it off rather quickly. I was able to get a few bites in before it disappeared & I found it to be really good! I think the key to the yummy taste is that STACKED uses fresh chicken breasts for their sandwich & the buttermilk batter, when fried, gets that nice golden brown look to it.
My daughter wanted to get in on the chicken action too! So she got her usual Chicken Tenders from the kids menu.
She is also a big fan of lemonade, so we ordered strawberry lemonades & an Arnold Palmer.
I was in the mood to have some warm, comfort food, so I decided to get a STACKED Mac! For readers of my blog, you know how much I love spicy food, so I decided to order the Cajun Shrimp Mac & Cheese. This mac & cheese has Cajun-style shrimp, pepper jack cheese, red peppers & chopped green onions. It was SO good & just what I needed!
Since my daughter already had carrots on her plate, my hubby & I decided to order the BBQ Chicken Salad with lettuce, grilled chicken breast, grape tomatoes, black beans, jack cheese & cilantro – all tossed in STACKED’s creamy barbecue dressing, with crispy onion strings placed on top.
There are five STACKED restaurants in the Southern California area: Thousand Oaks, Cerritos, Huntington Beach, Torrance & San Diego. For more information, check out their website here. Don’t forget to check out their Facebook page for the latest updates!
