At long last, you can add “Wicked: For Good” to your movie collection.
I watched the sequel in the movie theaters over Thanksgiving weekend and over New Year’s, we played our digital version on the TV in our living room. It was just the movie to watch on a rainy LA day with popcorn and holiday cookies!
While the first movie is a sweet cinematic delight, “Wicked: For Good” is less campy and a bit more straightforward, which could be why my husband liked the sequel better. As for me, I enjoyed the final duet between Elphaba and Glinda, as well as the satisfying conclusion of the movie.
In “Wicked: For Good,” Elphaba and Glinda are now estranged, each living with the consequences of their choices. Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), now demonized as The Wicked Witch of the West, lives in exile, continuing her fight to expose The Wizard. Meanwhile, Glinda (Ariana Grande) has become a glamorous symbol of Goodness, basking in the perks of fame and popularity. When a girl from Kansas crashes into their lives, Elphaba and Glinda must reunite and truly see each other—if they are to change themselves, and all of Oz.
The movie is available now on digital platforms to buy or rent. The film comes home with two versions of the movie, including an exclusive sing-along for fans and over one hour of bonus features, including deleted scenes, a 50+ minute exclusive look into the making of the movie with Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo and the cast and filmmakers, and more must-have behind-the-scenes featurettes.
Directed by Jon M. Chu, the supporting cast includes Jonathan Bailey (Jurassic World: Rebirth), Jeff Goldblum (Independence Day), Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All at Once), Ethan Slater (The Man Behind the Camera), Bowen Yang (Isn’t It Romantic) and Marissa Bode.
You’ll be able to buy the movie on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on January 20, 2026 from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.
Both the Digital and Blu-ray releases have bonus materials. Check out the details below!

I loved reading your review. Your description of watching Wicked: For Good at home with popcorn and holiday treats really brought back memories of my own cozy movie nights, and your enthusiasm for the emotional connection between Elphaba and Glinda made me want to watch it again.
I’ve not even seen the first one yet. I’m a bit scared of watching them to be honest. As The Wizard of Oz was one of my favourite films as a kid and i’m scared watching Wicked will ruin it.
