Barbie is a perennial favorite among kids and adults alike; however, it seems like she is having a resurgence in the past several months what with the World of Barbie pop-up in LA and also the new Margot Robbie movie coming out this summer directed by Greta Gerwig. What I’ve always liked about Barbie’s animated movies, is that they focus on friendship and promote courage, loyalty, honesty and confidence. These are characteristics that any parent would want their child to discover and have reinforced while watching entertainment. Mattel’s “Barbie: It Takes Two – The Music of Friendship” has all that and fortunately for us, it’s coming to DVD on May 16th!
Join Barbie “Malibu” Roberts and Barbie “Brooklyn” Roberts for fun, laughter, and exciting new adventures in the brand-new series “Barbie It Takes Two”. The series follows Barbie and Barbie as they attend a year of performing arts high school in NYC, set out to record a music demo and take odd jobs to pay for it all—while exploring the Big Apple and traveling back to Malibu often to visit family and friends. Filled with stories of friendship, family, passion and perseverance, the series follows this iconic duo as they work hard and have fun chasing their dreams. This exciting new series also features new characters, new settings, and all-new songs!
In this 7-episode DVD, viewers can sing the songs of friendship with Barbie and her friends, as the characters demonstrate positive messages about friendship, determination and always trying your best.
The series stars a diverse cast including America Young as the voice of Barbie “Malibu” Roberts, Tatiana Varris as the voice of Barbie “Brooklyn” Roberts, Nicolas Roye as the voice of Rafa, and Kirsten Day as the voice of Skipper.
