Calling all L.O.L. Surprise! The Next Headliner fans! The season finale streams this Saturday, November 7th, and you won’t want to miss it!

What’s in store? The girls go to extreme lengths to perform a surprise show for the record label CEO and prove they deserve to go on tour with Diva Geneva. BUT…will they succeed? You’ll have to watch it and find out!

Recently, I sat down with the director and a few members of the L.O.L. Surprise! The Next Headliner cast to discuss their characters and the message of the series.

Without giving anything away, but how much has your character evolved from episode one to the finale?

Indi Star (Violet Angel): Violet definitely evolves throughout the show. She becomes a lot closer to Shadow (Journey Montana), who helps her find her true self. She became a little bit darker and a little more punky, but also still owns her country self.

Of all the songs that you sang and performed on the show, what was your favorite and why?

Journey Montana (Shadow Princess): My favorite is “Rewind Again.” It was really fun to sing and it’s so catchy. It was stuck in my head for weeks.

What was the biggest challenge you faced while working on this series?

Giselle Torres (BB Bonita): It was probably the choreography in general. Each episode had a new song and choreo; we all have a background in dance, but sometimes we had to learn the dance in a short period of time. It was an amazing bonding exercise.

As you wrap up directing the entire season, what do you hope audiences take away from the finale on November 7?

Chell Stephen (Series director): We are stronger together rather than independently is the main message of the series. All of [the characters] different strengths and weaknesses together make something special and unique. Being your truest self and being with people who let you be your truest self is the best way to get through life.

What has connecting with your fanbase been like for you?

Giselle Torres (BB Bonita): It’s been really cool to see. As someone who played with dolls growing up, it’s really a big deal to resemble an actual doll that kids can play with. Each character has their own personality on screen, and each girl brings a different style of music. It’s great that kids can look up to one of us, like they see a part of themselves in Shadow or BB, or whoever.

Knowing that so many young people look up to you and see themselves in this diverse cast, how does that feel?

Journey Montana (Shadow Princess): For me personally, I grew up really gravitating towards alternative music and style. To see a girl who looks like me, I think it can be really inspiring for a lot of little girls, because for me growing up I didn’t really have that. It means the world to me, just for my younger self.

This sounds like such a wholesome show. I’ve never heard of it before, but the recap makes me want to watch it.
