Name, Claim and Reframe {Book Review}

Posted on July 12, 2023 | Filed Under: Books | Tags: Andrea Mein DeWitt, Hatherleigh Press, Name Claim and Reframe, self-help book | 2 Comments

Earlier this year, I felt like I was at a crossroads with my career and personal life. “Name, Claim and Reframe: Your Path to a Well-Lived Life” helped me understand what the source of my pain point was, and how to claim my life back by establishing healthy boundaries and reframing my way of thinking.

In this book, author and life coach Andrea Mein DeWitt gives actionable insights so that you can adopt a more strategic and intentional approach to life. Says DeWitt, “Despite the constant uncertainty all around us, it is possible to adopt a more strategic and intentional approach to life.” Adding, “The very best processes are simple, but not easy. Name, Claim and Reframe is the choice to disrupt our own conditioning and narratives of unworthiness and to choose another way, the way of deepening into the knowing of your innate magnificence and capacity.”

As I mentioned earlier, certain challenges in my life started to create upheaval and affected my personal life. I started to sense an imbalance and it seriously affected my sleeping (I developed insomnia). Looking back I can see that I suffered from anxiety and possibly high-functioning depression. (Note: I was not officially diagnosed but based on how I was feeling and acting, this is what I’ve determined on my own.)

Reading this book highlighted important messages. We all know that life isn’t easy. The book explains that when unexpected challenges and personal crises threaten your sense of safety and stability, coping just isn’t enough. For too long I was just trying to get through an endless list of “To Do’s” and putting my career and other people’s needs before my own. “Name, Claim and Reframe” teaches you how to tackle life’s problems, establish healthy boundaries and realign your perspectives so you can embrace your authentic spirit.
