Black Angus Steakhouse – Visit Ventura

Posted on January 26, 2026 | Filed Under: Food, Reviews | Tags: Black Angus Steakhouse Ventura, steakhouses in Ventura, Ventura restaurants, Visit Ventura | 6 Comments

A few weekends ago, my family and I headed out to Ventura for a fantastic lunch at Black Angus Steakhouse.

Family lunch

You might remember me mentioning their grand re-opening back in November, and now that the holiday rush has finally settled, it felt like the perfect time to treat my parents to a meal there. Even though it’s a 45-minute drive from the Valley, that crisp beach air and coastal breeze make every mile worth it.

We started out with drinks and their warm brown bread. Our waitress recommended the crispy garlic-pepper zucchini appetizer, and it was a hit at our table! I’ve always been a fan of their loaded baked potato soup, so I had that to start.

For my main entrée, I opted for the grilled salmon dish with green beans.

My dad loves ribs and he ordered a full rack of BBQ baby back ribs. The pork was so tender, and he really liked the smoky molasses BBQ sauce.

BBQ ribs

My mom was in the mood for a salad and since we were at Black Angus, she decided to get the BBQ chicken salad. According to my mom, it was super tasty!

My husband got the prime rib with crab mashed potatoes and broccoli.

These loaded mashed potatoes are here for a limited time (though February 23). I took a spoonful from his plate and the potatoes with garlic butter, mixed with the crab were delicious. Just look at the photo below with better detail of the crab meat!

We received excellent service and the food was top notch! If you’re looking for a place to eat for Valentine’s Day, I suggest coming to Black Angus Steakhouse in Ventura.

Deluxe Dinner Menu

The restaurant has a special dinner for two that’s perfect for Valentine’s weekend. Then afterwards, you can visit the harbor for shopping and walk off your meal! 😉

Driving all the way out there for that coastal air makes the meal more special. That limited crab mash addition is a genius touch.

This sounds like such a great family lunch, and everything you ordered looks delicious, especially those crab mashed potatoes. I love the idea of pairing dinner at Black Angus with a stroll around the harbor.
