Brunch at Eureka! Woodland Hills

Posted on November 11, 2015 | Filed Under: Food | Tags: Eureka restaurant, Valley brunch spots, Woodland Hills restaurant | 4 Comments

At first blush, when you see Eureka! Woodland Hills, you might wonder - is it a sports bar, a gastropub type place or family friendly? It's actually all of those things & more! Sure there is a very cool Happy Hour, with great specials & a really nice bar with TVs. However, it is very family AND pet friendly! On a recent brunch outing with my family, we saw many couples but several families with kids of all ages & even pets out … [Read more...]

Authentic Italian Food at #IlFornaio in Woodland Hills!

Posted on November 9, 2015 | Filed Under: Food | Tags: Il Fornaio, The Village at Westfield Topanga, Woodland Hills Italian Restaurant | 5 Comments

Recently my family tried out the new Il Fornaio restaurant in Woodland Hills. It is located inside the Village at Westfield Topanga. I had never been to an Il Fornaio before, but I had heard about its reputation for authentic & delicious Italian food. As the hostess took us to our table, I noticed right away the neat pizza oven that can be viewed in the open-air kitchen. At Il Fornaio, they make fresh pizza dough daily. Also their … [Read more...]

Hearty Breakfast or a Late Night Snack? Modern Oats is the Answer!

Posted on November 5, 2015 | Filed Under: Food | Tags: healthy oatmeal, Modern Oats, vegan oatmeal | 2 Comments

People often say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I know that is definitely true for me because if I don't have a decent breakfast, then it is hard for me to focus on the day's tasks because I'm too busy ignoring my hunger pangs & wondering when my next meal will come. That's just me though because I have a tendency to get "hangry." There are mornings when it is really hectic & I'm just looking for a quick yet … [Read more...]

Posted on October 29, 2015 | Filed Under: Food | Tags: Sloan’s Ice Cream, The Village at Westfield Topanga, Woodland Hills ice cream | 2 Comments

When I first walked into Sloan’s Ice Cream store, I was blown away by all of the eye candy (pun intended)! It is like a dream come true for people with a sweet tooth (aka my husband & daughter). We were fortunate to get a behind the scenes tour of the very first Sloan’s Ice Cream store in the Los Angeles area. How lucky are we that it is also in the San Fernando Valley, located at The Village at Westfield Topanga! The décor … [Read more...]

The Art of Creating Sweets at Cake – The Sweets & Party Expo

Posted on October 26, 2015 | Filed Under: Food, Local Events | Tags: Cake - The Sweets & Party Expo, Orange County Cake Expo, Ruchel Freibrun | Leave a Comment

This post was written by guest contributor Ruchel Freibrun. I have never been to Cake - The Sweets & Party Expo because baking is not my thing. But my friend, blogger Jen Miyagishima, could not go and asked me if I would like to take my family since I live in OC and I readily said “Yes.” Do you know why I said “yes” - because I wanted to see what all of the hype was about! With all of the cake TV shows such as Cupcake Wars on The Food … [Read more...]

Sometimes I go to restaurants with my family & I think, hmmmm…been there, done that or this is a similar concept but I like the other place better. Well at Stacked, the food is well built because YOU get to be in charge of the personalization of your food! Stacked has four locations in the SoCal area: Thousand Oaks, Cerritos, San Diego and Torrance. I had the opportunity to visit the Thousand Oaks location, which is conveniently … [Read more...]
