Recently I was driving to Anaheim from the Valley on a Friday afternoon. Naturally there was traffic & I was stuck in gridlock, no matter what freeway I took. My daughter was in the backseat, happily listening to music on her iPod. I decided that I needed to "get my zen on" & popped into the CD player this new album by Emeralde called Wind and Shadows. Wind and Shadows is the first album for Emeralde & it is a powerful CD that … [Read more...]
Holiday Baking with Nestle Chocolate Abuelita
Last month I had attended a wonderful event at the Nestle headquarters in Glendale. It was to honor the Día de los Muertos holiday, which in English means, Day of the Dead. Día de los Muertos is a Mexican holiday where families and friends gather to celebrate, remember & prepare special foods in honor of those who have departed. In popular culture, most folks (non-Latino people) only know about Día de los Muertos as it relates to sugar skulls … [Read more...]
Delicious Neapolitan Pizza from #MidiCi in Sherman Oaks!

At MidiCi, they make Neapolitan pizza with only the freshest, most natural ingredients that are GMO-free. For friends who have a gluten … [Read more...]
Behind the Scenes at Aquarium of the Pacific

There were kids dressed up in Halloween costumes & even the aquarium workers got in on the act! The lobby was full of painted pumpkins on display. One of the things our behind the scenes tour guide explained to us is how after really big whales die, they will … [Read more...]

I immediately had a connection with her because Michelle is a working mom, lives in the Valley & we have similar goals. What I also liked about Michelle is her spirit of community & helping other mompreneurs, which is what this segment of my blog is all about! Earlier this year, Michelle started an organization called Playdate Connection. Playdate … [Read more...]

If you cook it weekly, then you are probably like me & always searching for new recipes or variations of a classic standby to try out. Sure the ingredients make a difference in what you throw in with the pasta, but often times by changing up the pasta sauce, it will bring a whole new flavor into the mix! Over the past few … [Read more...]
