I’ve known Dana for quite some time now. She was an instructor at the now-defunct Beatbike in Tarzana. However, it was during the last few years that we really became acquainted with each other. In years past, I hosted fitness events at Row House Granada Hills and BoxUnion Sherman Oaks. Dana always offered to donate items for the goodie bags. I knew back then that she was in the planning stages for CycleBar Sherman Oaks. I’m happy to say that … [Read more...]
Discovering the Toniebox
I grew up loving “books on tape.” Remember those? I’d stick a storytime cassette tape into my own My First Sony Boombox. A cheery narrator would read an accompanied story as I “read” along. My husband and I still have some of the books and it made me want to share that experience with our daughter, Mabel. Now, thanks to Toniebox, I sort of can. What I’ve always liked about Barbie’s animated movies, is that they focus on friendship and promote courage, loyalty, honesty and confidence. These are characteristics that any parent … [Read more...]

I remember watching the news one morning and an interview featuring Ever After Bakery caught my interest. I started following them on Instagram from that moment on. With each photo of baked goods – from cakes to cookies and cake pops, I’ve wondered, “Who is the baker responsible for all of this magical goodness?” I recently reached out to Wendy to find out how she got her start in the baking industry, what she likes best about having a … [Read more...]
