Disclosure: I was invited to an event at Santa Anita Park along with a select group of bloggers – all opinions are my own.
On a beautiful Friday in September, I ventured out to Arcadia. For those of you who read my blog, you’ll know that I had been out to Santa Anita Park earlier this summer for a food festival. However this was going to be my first time at the races! America’s Best Racing had invited me to be a part of the opening day festivities. America’s Best Racing is dedicated to bringing the sport of Thoroughbred racing to a younger generation of fans.
After we went through the club house entrance, our group was given a tour of the grounds.
After the tour, we made our way to our box seats. Check out the view from my seat!
I was given a brief tutorial on horse betting, but to be honest with you, I just went with the horse that had a pretty name. For the first race, I bet on Georgia, who had pretty good odds. Well wouldn’t you know, my horse came in first place!
I watched a couple more races & then my time at Santa Anita Park came to an end.
It was a fun-filled afternoon of horses, food & drinks! If you’d like to visit Santa Anita Park, click here for more information.
How fun. I’ve never been to the races, but they usually make me think of Audrey Hepburn in that fabulous white dress, hat, and parasol from the racing scene in My Fair Lady. 🙂
Love the photo of the San Gabriel Mountains.
Thanks for stopping by my blog! The view is breathtaking. Someone said that during winter it’s really beautiful with the snow in the mountains. There was a woman in our group who was dressed very Audrey Hepburn-ish with the big hat & a polka dot outfit. When I was introduced to her, I just had to compliment her on her outfit!
It was great meeting you on such a beautiful day at the races. I hope I see you around again soon!
It was nice to meet you at such a fun event! Hope to see you soon & thanks for stopping by my blog.
