Milk & Eggs held a Fresh & Fit event two weeks ago at The Container Yard in downtown LA. I’m always up for attending an event that combines food & fitness & this one did not disappoint!
There were vendors that handed out samples of food & beverages, as well as fitness companies.
The list of vendors include:
- RoliRoti
- JJ’s Original Snacks
- Better Bean Co.
- KIND Snacks
- Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Water
- AgStandard
- Teaonic
- Unisoy Foods
- Essentia Water
- Ripple Foods
- Brothers Products (Family made hummus, gourmet dips & spreads)
- Equinox
- StingFIT
Those who wanted to take a fitness class, had to pre-register ahead of time. Fortunately, I signed-up to take a StingFIT class earlier, so I could peruse the pop-ups & tables of food until it was time to take the class.
I tried all of the snacks & drinks at the Milk & Eggs Fresh and Fit event, but there were several that stood out to me.
Beef Crisps by JJ’s Original Snacks
I love the taste of beef jerky but my pet peeve is the “tough” texture where you basically have to rip a piece of it with your teeth. The beef snacks are thin, have a crispy texture & are offered in original & spicy flavor. I liked both flavors but I’m partial to spicy food.
Better Bean Co.
Better Bean pre-soaks their beans for easy digestion & kettle cooks them in slow batches. All three flavors that I tasted were good, but my favorite was the Roasted Chipotle Red Beans. You can use it for nachos, tacos, dips, burritos, etc.
KIND Snacks
I love KIND bars & was happy to see that they have a new KIND Kids Bar! My kiddo is allergic to peanuts & tree nuts, so I was excited that their new Chewy Honey Oat Bar does not have nuts. It was yummy & my daughter would love it.
AgStandard
Although my daughter is allergic to nuts, I still enjoy them & I was thrilled to step up to this booth. I got to literally “taste the rainbow” of almonds & cashews offered by AgStandard! These nuts were all pretty tasty but I have to say my favorites are the Glazed Whole Cashews & also the Blistered Maple Almonds. When I asked the rep what is the most popular flavor, he said it was the Matcha Green Tea Almonds.
Teaonic
Tea + Tonic = Teaonic, which is an herbal tea infused with herbs, roots, leaves, barks, fruits, flowers & spices. There are a variety of teas in the Teaonic product line. I sampled “I Love My Adrenals” which is supposed to help with stress relief & “I Love My Gut” which aids in digestion. I liked both flavors, in fact I brought home two bottles, but you’ll have to read on the company’s website about their health claims since I’m not a doctor. Aside from the taste, I like that it’s made with filtered water, contains zero sugar & has ingredients like dandelion root, rose hips & milk thistle.
After I finished visiting all of the vendors, I had a chance to sit down & people watch before the StingFIT class. Then it was time to get on the mat!
Federico had us do a light warm-up. Then we did some cardio & high-intensity moves (planking, squats, lunges, etc.) The class was about 15-20 minutes long, which sounds short but we were working out under the hot sun at 1pm. So I was a sweaty, hot mess after the class ended. Nonetheless, I had a good time. If given the chance, I’d take a StingFIT class again at Federico’s studio which is at 11611 San Vicente Blvd, Los Angeles 90049, CA.
All in all, I had a great time at Milk & Eggs Fresh and Fit. Thanks Milk & Eggs for hosting such a fun event!
