Bloom Summit 2018 {Event Recap}

Posted on June 12, 2018 | Filed Under: Fitness, Local Events | Tags: Bloom Summit, Box Union Studio, Costa Craft Beauty, NeoCell | 2 Comments

Earlier this month I attended Bloom Summit, a one-day wellness & beauty retreat, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

The event was hosted by New Bloom Media & sponsored by NeoCell.

There were different sessions or “tracts” held at the same time, geared towards different interests. The speakers spoke about a variety of topics in the health, wellness and/or fitness space.

I decided to start my morning off by taking an exercise class. Sara Hayley taught an amazing Feel Good Fusion class! We did a quick warm-up of stretches & yoga moves, then moved on to strength training (lots of squats, lunges, planks, mountain climbers, etc.) & of course, lots of cardio.

After the class was over, I immediately fueled up on water & a snack provided by two Bloom Summit sponsors. Once I cooled down, I decided to check out the Wellness Oasis.

First up, the Snack Bar sponsored by several awesome companies!

Life in Jeneral, a professional organizing company, organized all of the yummy snacks into bins. Bags were provided for attendees to stock up on all of the treats!

Afterwards I did a fun DIY at the Costa Craft Beauty table. You could do one of two projects: make-your-own body scrub or a DIY summer fragrance spritzer. My skin is dry & in need of some TLC, so I opted to make the body scrub using sugar & a vanilla scented essential oil.

I grabbed some lunch (a variety of yummy salads) & then headed over to one of the conference rooms to listen to Charles Chen (TV host & spokesperson for Neocell) discuss the benefits of adding collagen to one’s daily life.

Our body’s collagen production slows down as we age. Charles explained that by taking a daily collagen supplement, you can improve the health of your skin, hair & joints.

I sampled two of Neocell’s products at their booth: Beauty Bursts soft chews & Super Collagen powder.

The powder can be added to your tea, coffee & smoothies. Apparently, it doesn’t alter the taste of your food, so Charles even adds it to pancakes! After his discussion, I tried this sweet treat that was made with Super Collagen powder & he was right – you would never know a supplement was added!

Since I had a break before my next fitness class, I decided to get a Vitamin C Boost from Nenergy. Nenergy Boost is an innovative vitamin boost and IV therapy clinic based in Brentwood. While waiting in line for my turn to get the boost, I took a selfie at Nenergy’s beautiful flower photo wall with my friend Michelle.

Another Bloom Summit highlight for me was meeting Catharine Arnston, Founder & CEO of EnergyBits.

I had just won an EnergyBits prize pack (tank top & product samples) from an Instagram contest the week prior. I was thrilled to be able to thank Catharine in person!

I also visited the Boiron booth & picked up several homeopathic medicine samples. I used the Arnicare Cream for pain relief after I got home to help with my aching muscles. 🙂

After perusing the different booths at the Wellness Oasis, it was time to make my way over to the last fitness class of the day that was taught by Deja from Box Union Studio. Deja’s shadow boxing class really kicked my butt. I loved her energy & endless motivation to push through the class & make it happen!

Even though we stretched & did a cool down at the end of the boxing class, I knew that I’d need to give extra TLC to my legs. I headed straight for the RAD Roller booth to massage my leg muscles with their RAD Rod.

As someone who suffers from plantar fasciitis, these RAD Rounds really help when I roll my foot & heel. I also like to roll on these when my sciatica is acting up.

I had a great time at Bloom Summit. Thanks Saarah Samadani of New Bloom Media & Neocell for hosting such a fun event!
