Have you ever wondered what it takes to be a children’s entertainer or performer? I have a relative who used to dance in the parades at Disney’s California Adventure theme park. As someone who has stage fright, I find it fascinating that people can stand in front of crowds dressed up in a costume & perform for kids & adults. Tori, the owner & founder of Enchanted Celebrations does that & more!
Tori’s company intrigued me & I thought it would be fascinating to learn how she got started. While she does not have children, her business is like her baby – so in my mind, she qualifies for a Real Mom of the SFV spotlight.
Please meet San Fernando Valley business owner, Tori of Enchanted Celebrations!
How/why did you begin your business?
Tori: I began my business as a result of being a nanny and a performer in many theme parks over the years. I have worked/performed for places like Universal Studios, Six Flags, Disneyland and many more including over seas parks! I have realized i have a love and a passion for bringing a child’s dream to life and making their fantasy a reality. I also just love bringing joy to people. As a nanny I loved the personalized interaction I was able to have with children and their families, and being a part of their day to day life. As a performer in theme parks I loved seeing not only the little ones faces light up but SO MANY more adults then you would guess. You are the thing they grew up watching and looking up to, so its really like meeting a celebrity for many guests when you work at a theme park.
Enchanted Celebrations is that perfect mix of my personal one on one nanny time and theme park performance that I am so passionate about. What i like most is you get more one on one time with the kids and families at our events and parties then you do at a theme park in a meet and greet line. It is so magical walking into a room as a character and having that same feeling I did in the theme parks, just knowing how much of an impact and a role model you can be for children and it to keep the adults using their imagination and getting exited and realize anything is possible and also giving that gift and feeling to new cast members I train. We pride ourselves in being very specific and detailed. If you want to meet the real fairy tale character we make sure thats possible.
What is one tip or piece of advice that you would give to other female entrepreneurs?
Tori: My advice to anyone in business 2 or 102, is to enjoy yourself with what you do and the money will follow you. If you have a product you not only believe in, but can honestly say is the best quality you are capable of putting out, then theres no going wrong. Always learn and ALWAYS grow. One thing I really took away from being an employee of Disney is that he NEVER wanted things to stop changing and growing at the park. Thats why they always are able to be known as the best, is because they stay so updated with EVERYTHING that they do. I like to take that same mentality and apply it to my own business.
What do you like best about having a business in the San Fernando Valley?
Tori: I love the community sense that a lot of the cities have in the Valley. We have neighborhoods and streets around the area that will only hire and only work with us. I love how we are close to Disneyland so a lot of people can see the details and effort we put into making sure we have a standard of at least theme park quality costumes, wigs, shoes, accessories, assistants and performers.
If there was one thing you wish you knew before you began your business, what would that be?
Tori: Something I wish I knew before I started would absolutely be to train more people to do what you do. It is so much easier to have help then to try to run it yourself. As I have gotten older I have realized when someone is doing what you already can do, it gives you the time and energy to put towards something else to help yourself or your business grow!

Lastly, in the spirit of Halloween & because the live action movie “Aladdin” is coming out in 2019, I thought I’d leave you with this fun cover of Arabian Nights sung by Enchanted Celebrations performers.
