Kathleen Lantos is the founder of Kathleen Lantos Photography & Video. She specializes in kids & newborn photography, family portraits, headshots and special events. In addition to photography, Kathleen handles video production for her other company, Web Spot Now. This is a woman who wears many hats!

I’ve gotten to know Kathleen socially via Facebook & I wanted to know how she does it – juggling various businesses, as well as being a working mom to a young daughter.

Please meet the latest Real Mom of the SFV, Kathleen Lantos!

How/why did you begin your business?
Kathleen: My passion for photography & video production led me to where Kathleen Lantos Photography & Web Spot Now are today, with taking pictures of babies, kids, families, actors, special events and products. I’m also creating web promo spots for businesses, family-history videos and music videos.

I started in front of the camera many years ago as an actress. Years later, I took a trip with my mother to Alaska. I was truly inspired by the beauty that we saw while there. I learned the fundamentals of photography from my talented mom. On that trip, I fell in love with photography. We took amazing images throughout the trip.

It was so incredible to have discovered a creative passion that has now turned into a wonderful business for me. After coming back to LA, I started taking headshots of my fellow acting friends. They loved it, and that is how it all began.

What is one tip or piece of advice that you would give to other female entrepreneurs?
Kathleen: As a working mother to a 4 ½ year old, the one piece of advice that I would give is to share your passion with your children. If they feel your passion then they will understand more what you are doing when working and hopefully it will plant a seed for them to follow their hearts in their future.

What do you like best about having a business in the San Fernando Valley?
Kathleen: I think the best thing about having a business in the San Fernando Valley is that my clients are so awesome! I have made new friends that I will cherish forever.

If there was one thing you wish you knew before you began your business, what would that be?
Kathleen: If there was one thing I wish I knew before I began my business is that everything is always changing. So go with the flow. Stay positive and be true to yourself.

Isn’t it interesting how Kathleen started down one path as an actress & later decided to work behind the lens? I imagine that it gives her a unique perspective as she works with actors on their headshots.

I love that Kathleen wants to show her daughter how determination & enthusiasm about her craft has led her to open two businesses. It’s so true that business is ever-changing. Kathleen’s upbeat attitude & willingness to be flexible is a mindset that all entrepreneurs should embrace!
