Last weekend I visited a fun pop-up experience in Thousand Oaks with my daughter. FunBox is like heaven for an Instagrammer. It’s a bright, happy space that is very family-friendly.
After you check-in with a FunBox staff member at your appointed time, you will be ushered into the FunBox lobby where you’ll immediately encounter the most adorable Teddy Bear Tunnel!
After walking through the tunnel (and resisting the urge to squeeze all of the teddy bears), we wandered over to the crayon area & posed on the “Fly with Friends” swing set.
Are your kids obsessed with Fortnite? They can meet the Fortnite Llama in one of the large installation sections!
What’s interesting to note is that the flooring is reminiscent of a Monopoly game board, only the properties are all based in Los Angeles, like The Broad or LACMA Museum.
FunBox has a cute carwash section, piggy bank area & a butterfly/angel wings room.
My daughter’s favorite section was the Infinity Room. It reminded me of that exhibit at The Broad, only on a smaller scale. One tip to know ahead of time, you only get one minute inside of the Infinity Room so be quick with your videos & photos!
One section that is sure to be a hit with those who like to dance is the area that I am calling the Disco Room. Strike a pose or dance on the floor (which lights up when you jump on it) or just take a selfie since the lighting & silver background are ideal.
The very last area (there are 24 art installations in all) is the cereal bowl installation. Kids will have a ball (or Fruit Loop) in here!
Overall this is a very cool place to visit for all ages – from toddlers to adults & all those in between! You’ll want to book your date & time to visit before FunBox closes its doors on January 3, 2019. It’s the brightest, happiest place to get your Instagram on & to enjoy being a kid at heart!

Thanks for this! I was on the fence about going and didn’t want to spend the time going only to be disappointed. It looks like a fun day trip.
