Calling all “Fraggle Rock” fans! Did you know that on Friday, March 29th, all 13 episodes of “Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock” Season 2 will be released on Apple TV+?
Jim Henson’s fun-loving and musical Fraggles – Gobo, Red, Boober, Mokey, Wembley, and Uncle Travelling Matt, appearing alongside new Fraggles and Doozers voiced by special guest stars including Academy Award winner Ariana DeBose, Emmy Award winner Brett Goldstein, Emmy Award winner Catherine O’Hara, Tony and Grammy Award winner, Emmy Award nominee Daveed Diggs, Grammy nominee Adam Lambert and K-pop group aespa – are back with more epic, fun and zany adventures, this time with big changes affecting the Rock. The Fraggles, Doozers, and Gorgs will be forced to confront their past and celebrate their interdependence as they move through challenges together with hope, silliness, and brand-new songs, all while dancing their cares away…down at Fraggle Rock.
“Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock” is executive produced by The Jim Henson Company’s Lisa Henson, Halle Stanford, and John Tartaglia, along with Matt Fusfeld and Alex Cuthbertson. Recently, I had the pleasure of interviewing Matt, Halle and John (shown below, left to right) and discovered some fun facts about the series.
When I asked John Tartaglia (executive producer, writer, performer, and puppet captain) who is the most fun Fraggle out of the main five to write for, he said, “I absolutely love writing for Red Fraggle. She was, when I was a kid, I wanted to be Red Fraggle and I just loved everything that Karen Prell, who is her performer, did with her. “
I chatted with Halle Stanford (executive producer) about the many guest stars in season 2 and she talked about Brett Goldstein’s (Ted Lasso) love for the puppets and how he was so delighted to work with the Fraggles. Another special guest star is the K-pop band aespa, who perform a song with Uncle Traveling Matt.
Join Uncle Travelling Matt and the Fraggles on March 29 for the Get Goin’ release by @Aespa_Official, and new episodes of #FraggleRock: Back to the Rock

This season, some of the themes that come up are climate change and food insecurity, which are addressed in a “Fraggle-y” way, as well as world peace, in particular finding peace within yourself, your family, friends and community. John Tartaglia emphaiszed that kids need to learn inner peace (family peace, community peace, etc.) and that “if we all understand each other more then we’ll want to get along.”
