Earlier this month, my husband and I left our home in the San Fernando Valley for a weekend getaway in Irvine. We’ve visited different areas of Orange County in the past, but never had the opportunity to really check out Irvine. With Hilton Irvine/Orange County as our home base, we got to explore places that I’ve always wanted to visit!
Hilton Irvine OC is conveniently located near John Wayne/Orange County Airport, making it a perfect location for the out-of-town traveler.
They have a fitness center which enabled me to get some cardio after our long drive!
The hotel’s Aura Restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, dinner and bar service. We enjoyed their breakfast buffet, which was tasty!

One of the places that I’ve always wanted to visit is Roger’s Gardens – a charming upscale garden center that also has seasonal boutiques. It’s located 10 minutes away from the hotel in Corona del Mar.
We were fortunate that they had both their Halloween Midnight Market and their Magic of Christmas Boutique open during our visit. I spent a lot of time looking at all of the pretty flowers, plants, and home decor. I could easily have spent another hour looking around, but we had more places to visit! I couldn’t resist buying a couple of holiday ornaments though. 🙂
Another place that we visited during our trip is Tanaka Farms. However, before we headed to the farm, we had a delicious lunch at Strawberry Farms Golf Club.
Our final excursion was to Tanaka Farms, a family-owned farm in Irvine. This farm has been in the Tanaka family for four generations and they’ve built it into a thriving farm that also hosts educational tours and special events.
All in all, we had an awesome time exploring Irvine and seeing another part of sunny SoCal!

Irvine is a GREAT city! I’ve been a few times, and I always tell everyone to go.

The hotel’s fitness center looks fantastic spot to get energized for the day or unwind after a long drive, and the restaurant’s breakfast buffet sounds extra enjoyable. Feels like both the workout space and dining area truly added warmth and comfort.
