Storks Flies Into Theaters Friday! {Movie Review}

Posted on September 22, 2016 | Filed Under: Pop Culture | Tags: Andy Samberg, Storks, Warner Bros. Pictures | Leave a Comment

Storks is a sweet & funny movie that takes on the age-old question “Where do babies come from?” Over the summer, I brought my family to watch an early screening of the movie on the Warner Bros. Studios lot. We had seen the commercials for it on TV, so I knew that Andy Samberg (from SNL & Brooklyn Nine-Nine was going to be in it). Andy plays a stork named “Junior” who finds himself climbing (or rather flying) up the corporate ladder … [Read more...]

Peep and Egg: I’m Not Trick-or-Treating is a children’s book about two cute little chicks that are about to embark on a Halloween adventure. The chicks are siblings & the older chick wants to go trick-or-treating, but the younger one does not. Halloween is just around the corner & if you have little ones, then you know that this holiday can bring up a mixed bag of emotions. Some tiny tots LOVE to play dress-up & go … [Read more...]

Yo-kai Watch is such a popular Nintendo 3DS game, that when it came time to develop a sequel, Nintendo decided to create two versions of this role-playing video game. On September 30th, Nintendo will release Yo-kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits and Yo-kai Watch 2: Fleshy Souls! Last week I attended a media event where I was schooled on all things Yo-kai. Mark Ballas of “Dancing with the Stars” kicked off the festivities. Mark is a huge Yo-kai Watch … [Read more...]

Habit Burger Grill – Seasonal Hatch Chile Menu

Posted on September 8, 2016 | Filed Under: Food, Social Good | Tags: Dine Out for No Kid Hungry, Hatch chiles, No Kid Hungry, The Habit Burger Grill | 2 Comments

Hatch chile season typically runs from August through September. To mark the occasion, the Habit Burger Grill is offering three special menu items featuring Hatch green chiles. The best way to get great flavor out of Hatch chiles is to roast or grill them until they’re charred. The Habit Burger Grill is known for their made-to-order chargrilled burgers, so it is only fitting that they chargrill each of their Hatch chiles to bring out the … [Read more...]

SoulCycle: Tapping It Back in Calabasas

Posted on September 6, 2016 | Filed Under: Fitness | Tags: Indoor Cycling San Fernando Valley, SoulCycle, SoulCycle Calabasas | 1 Comment

A few weeks ago, SoulCycle opened its newest location in Calabasas. Although I’ve taken cycle classes at other studios, this was my first time ever taking a SoulCycle class. While indoor group cycling classes are not a new concept, it was SoulCycle that pioneered the trend back in 2006 which combines 45 minutes of cycling with the use of hand weights in a club-like atmosphere with pulsating music. I’ve tried different cycle studios in … [Read more...]
