The Rose Run 5k Run/Walk & 1k Kids’ Fun Run

The Rose Run 5k Run/Walk & 1k Kids’ Fun Run is returning to Griffith Park to raise funds for a 3D mammography machine at The Disney Family Cancer Center, located at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank.

We all know that early detection saves lives; however many places utilize traditional 2D screenings. The proceeds from the Rose Run will go towards purchasing a 3d tomography machine for the Disney Family Cancer Center. The “Tomo” Machine is a 3D imaging machine used especially for the early detection of breast cancer, with a 41% increase in breast cancer detection.

I have two family members who are breast cancer survivors. I’m sure there are many of you who are reading this blog post know someone (friend or family) who have been affected by breast cancer. The Rose Run is a great way to give back to the local community & really make a difference that can impact someone’s life.

WHERE: Crystal Springs Picnic Area, Griffith Park. Trail run around the golf course in Griffith Park

WHEN: Sunday, October 9th, 2016 7:30am. There is a Wellness Fair from 7:30am-10am.
