For those that follow my blog, you’ll remember that I attended a dinner hosted by Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) a couple of weeks ago. You can read all about the wonderful reception & the great musical guest Aloe Blacc here. The reason why we were gathered in Santa Monica for the dinner was to celebrate safe & sustainable eating. During the evening, we also learned how the widespread use of antibiotics in our livestock & … [Read more...]

Since 1970, the NRDC lawyers, scientists & other environmental specialists have worked to protect the world's natural resources, public health & the environment. I … [Read more...]

Last week I visited Teavana® Fine Teas + Tea Bar in Beverly Hills on opening day! Last month, I was invited to attend a media tasting at Chichén Itzá Restaurant located at 3655 S. Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90007. The chef & owner of the restaurant is Gilberto Cetina, who also happens to be a co-author for the book Sabores Yucatecos: A Culinary Tour of the Yucatán, the first cookbook in English on Yucatecan cuisine by a chef from the Yucatán. Since the cookbook was so successful in English, the authors felt it … [Read more...]

Attention tea drinkers & Oprah fans! In just a couple of days, Teavana Oprah Chai will make its debut in Starbucks and Teavana stores across the U.S. and Canada. I’m a big tea drinker – green tea, English breakfast tea & especially Chai tea! I enjoy brewing a cup of tea when I am at home. However, when I am out & about, one of my favorite things to get at Starbucks is a non-fat chai latte. So when I got the invitation to the … [Read more...]

Visiting Quenelle in Burbank

Posted on April 23, 2014 | Filed Under: Food | Tags: Burbank, Magnolia Blvd., Quenelle | Leave a Comment

Last month I visited my old stomping grounds (Burbank, CA) for a media event. I took my daughter with me to watch a family-friendly movie, which was educational & fun. We later visited one of my old haunts for lunch & then tried a new dessert place for sweet treats! Here's a little tidbit that most of my blog readers probably don't know - I used to work for the Mouse House. What feels like 100 years ago (but is actually more like a decade … [Read more...]
