Posted on November 1, 2013 | Filed Under: Food | Tags: Family Fun Day, giveaway, Los Angeles, Mendocino Farms, Rhythm Child, Sherman Oaks | 31 Comments

Mendocino Farms recently hosted a Family Fun Day at their Sherman Oaks location. It was a fun afternoon of eating, music and arts & crafts. There were several types of sandwiches, a pasta salad, sweet treats & drinks for everyone. While noshing on all of the great food, we rocked out to Rhythm Child, a family friendly band. Each kid got to decorate their own picture frame. They had a photographer on-site so you … [Read more...]

I am always on the hunt for a good sandwich & salad place. So when I found out that Mendocino Farms was opening up a restaurant in the Valley, I was thrilled. I’ve always wanted to try their food, but just hadn’t made it out to their downtown Los Angeles or Fairfax locations. They are all about using farm fresh produce, sourced locally & you’ll be happy to note that their prices are comparable to other sandwich & salad cafes. This … [Read more...]

Disclosure: I was invited to a tasting event along with a select group of bloggers – all opinions are my own. ShopHouse Southeast Asian Kitchen is a fast casual restaurant that features a menu that is gluten-free, as well as dairy-free. The concept is simple – you get a noodle or rice bowl, fill it with your choice of meat or tofu, then pick one vegetable, one sauce & a garnish. The set-up of the restaurant is similar to Chipotle (who happens … [Read more...]

Disclosure: I was invited to an event hosted by MomsLA & Cafe MangoSix - all opinions are my own. Cafe MangoSix is located on trendy West 3rd Street in Los Angeles, just down the ways from Magnolia Bakery & Joan’s on Third. They serve salads, sandwiches, organic coffee/tea, smoothies, lemonade & baked goods. What sets this cafe apart from those eateries is its love of all things mango & also their Asian boba drinks. Cafe … [Read more...]

Happy Friday to you all! If you love food trucks, you’ll want to come out to Food Truck Friday in Granada Hills. So many food trucks line up on Chatsworth Street, between Zelzah Ave. & White Oak Ave. It is a fun family atmosphere - sometimes they even have musical street performers on the corner. I almost always run into someone I know! Usually the big named food trucks (Kogi BBQ & The Grilled Cheese Truck) visit on Fridays. However … [Read more...]

This past Saturday I finally got to try out the 626 Night Market at the Santa Anita Park in Arcadia. Being that I live in the San Fernando Valley, this was kind of a trek for me. However, it was well worth the drive! One of my friends had gone in July & I took her advice – showing up at the gates right when it opened. Getting there early is crucial for someone like me who likes to avoid the crowds & long lines of typical food … [Read more...]
