It’s #Time2Climb with #RiseNation

Posted on September 1, 2015 | Filed Under: Fitness | Tags: Rise Nation, VersaClimber, vertical climber group fitness class | 6 Comments

When I first heard about Rise Nation, I was a little intimidated by the concept but that didn’t stop me from wanting to try it. At Rise Nation, you are working out in a group fitness setting on a VersaClimber, which is a vertical climber machine. After reading the description, I realized that it’s only 30 minutes, so surely I can hang in there for half an hour. As a new customer, my first session is free, so I was ready to rise to the … [Read more...]

Green Apple Active – Lifestyle and Fitness Apparel

Posted on August 31, 2015 | Filed Under: Fitness, Product Reviews | Tags: Green Apple Active, Moisture Wicking Organic Bamboo Apparel, Organic Cotton fitness apparel | 2 Comments

I tend to live in my workout clothes. At school drop-off, you’ll see me in my yoga pants or leggings with a loose top or tank. Lately I’ve been looking for an outfit that doesn’t scream “I just got out of my cycle class!” & for one that looks more like casual weekend or lounge wear. It’s important that either top or bottom piece can take me from the gym to a doctor’s appointment to school pick-up. Remember when I went to BlogFest last … [Read more...]

LAUSD High School Students Get to Think It Up via #StaplesForStudents!

I was invited by Staples, Inc. for the purposes of this post. All thoughts & opinions remain my own. A small crowd gathered on Wednesday, August 26th at the W Hollywood Hotel for an important announcement made by representatives of Staples, the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF), DonorsChoose.org & Think It Up™. Think It Up is a nonprofit organization supported by the EIF, DonorsChoose.org & Staples that funds student-powered, … [Read more...]

Arctic Zero: Fit Frozen Desserts

Posted on August 27, 2015 | Filed Under: Food | Tags: Arctic Zero, Fit Frozen Desserts, low cal ice cream | 8 Comments

I don’t know about where you live but it has been blazing hot in the Valley lately! When the weather is above 90 degrees, my family (including me) craves ice cream. If it were up to my daughter, we would have ice cream every day after dinner but obviously that wouldn’t be good for our health! However there is an ice cream out there that is fat free, lactose free (great for my family/friends who have a hard digesting dairy), GMO free and certified … [Read more...]

Sharky’s Northridge – Feel Good About Eating!

Posted on August 25, 2015 | Filed Under: Food | Tags: Northridge Mexican food, organic Mexican food, Sharky’s Woodfired Mexican Grill | 2 Comments

I attended a media lunch sponsored by Sharky’s Woodfired Mexican Grill. The visit was complimentary & I received a goodie bag as compensation for attending. All opinions expressed here are 100% my own. I love Mexican food, but living in SoCal I know that not all places that serve Mexican food are created equal. Sure you’ve got your taco trucks, fast food chains, hole in the wall mom & pop places & sit down restaurants. Well what if … [Read more...]

#ONEDifference with Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Purina ONE

Posted on August 24, 2015 | Filed Under: Local Events, Social Good | Tags: Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Purina ONE, spcaLA | 2 Comments

By now you probably have heard about the overcrowding situation in dog shelters. My daughter has been begging for us to get her a dog & I know that when we are ready to commit to one, we will look at pet adoption centers in the LA area. Earlier this month, my daughter & I attended an event at Santa Monica Place that was hosted by spcaLA & Purina ONE. There were about a half dozen dogs on-hand from spcaLA who were hanging out in … [Read more...]
