Far From the Madding Crowd

Two weeks ago, my daughter & I arrived at Apricot Lane Farms, located in a sleepy town just 45 minutes north of Los Angeles to celebrate the Blu-Ray/DVD release of Far From the Madding Crowd. The movie is set in England during Victorian times & is based on Thomas Hardy’s book of the same name, Far from the Madding Crowd. The film stars Carey Mulligan (who I’ve liked since she played Winnie Gekko in Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps) … [Read more...]

Momentum Jewelry

It was about four months ago when I lost my voice. I had just worked back to back events - Friday night at a Burbank street festival & Saturday morning on a rainy cold day at yet another festival but this time in Pasadena. When I got the call Saturday morning to replace a coworker who had flaked out on the event, I just knew that it was going to be an uphill battle to do my job. You see the type of work that I do involves a lot of talking … [Read more...]

10 Fun Facts About ABC Family’s “Kevin From Work”

Posted on August 11, 2015 | Filed Under: Pop Culture | Tags: ABC Family TV Show, Kevin From Work, McG tv show, Noah Reid | Leave a Comment

Last week I attended a screening for the first episode of Kevin From Work. Office romance, a crazy boss, smelly break rooms, these are the topics that are touched on in this zany TV comedy about life in the cube farm (otherwise known as work). I’m sure a lot of us can relate to some of these issues. I know I’ve had a crazy boss (or two) & it’s well documented on social media how people hate the smells coming from the workplace kitchen (hello … [Read more...]

Shop Vivaiodays.com and Help Support a Vivaio Child

Who likes shopping? Yep, me too! Online shopping has been a big help for me since I don’t always have time (or the patience) to go to a physical store & buy things. What if I were to tell you that there is a website that features a curated collection of high-quality, sustainably sourced goods AND that for every $10 you spend equals $1 that goes towards helping a child in need. Sounds like a win-win, right? I believe that social media can … [Read more...]

Dunkin’ Donuts has been opening new stores in Southern California at a rapid pace. Just last week a DD store opened up its first storefront in the Santa Clarita Valley. Earlier this summer, a Dunkin' Donuts opened up in Encino in June. For those who live in West LA & have already visited the one in Santa Monica, you'll be happy to know that a Dunkin' Donuts Green Achievement restaurant is opening on Tuesday, August 11th! Checking Out the Seasonally Inspired Menu at California Pizza Kitchen

Posted on August 5, 2015 | Filed Under: Food | Tags: California Pizza Kitchen, Seasonally Inspired CPK Menu | 6 Comments

When I hear the name California Pizza Kitchen (CPK), I think of pizza, pasta & that delicious bread basket. Recently I sampled foods from their new seasonally inspired menu & I was delighted to learn that they now offer so much more! As I was walking to my booth, the restaurant manager pointed out that the Northridge restaurant recently had a “refresh” in their decor. New wood flooring was installed that is made up of sustainable … [Read more...]
