As a busy, work-at-home mom, there are days where I just don’t have time to get to the gym to workout. While I can always lace up my shoes & go for a jog on my treadmill at home, sometimes I need an alternative. Thankfully I found Yoga Warrior 365 with Rudy Mettia, which is an excellent DVD box set. Now I can bring the yoga studio to my home!
Through this home yoga series, you’ll learn the yoga method and mindset directly from Rudy, following his unique path to self-discovery as you embark upon your own journey. Engaging, accessible and visually stunning, Yoga Warrior 365 offers 15 thematic yoga practices to help you define, refine and elevate your personal practice so that you can reap yoga’s full physical and mental benefits. But the instruction doesn’t stop there: each disc starts with Warrior Tips that break down the poses in detail to ensure safety and keep “y’all breathing.”
I tend to focus more on strength training & cardio when I do hit the gym. So having this at home yoga workout series is a dream! I like to do yoga in order to keep myself limber & really stretch out my muscles after a tough cardio workout. One of the classes in this series that I really responded to is the Responsible Warrior (Class 2), where the theme is shoulders. Maybe it’s because I spend a lot of my day working in front of a computer, but I really enjoy performing the series of exercises where I can release the tension in my back & shoulders.
Another class that really resonated with me is Focused Warrior (Class 6) where the theme is balance.
Before he had the class strike a pose, Rudy made a little joke about our busy society that is consumed with Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc. I found it kind of funny (and ironic, given what I do for a living) but it reminded me that no matter how busy we get with our technology & gadgets, it is always a good thing to slow down & get focused.
When you quiet the mind, you are able to find balance in both the physical sense, as well as the psychological sense. Here’s Rudy taking the class through a series of poses.
With the Yoga Warrior 365 DVD box set, I don’t have to miss out on getting my Namaste on! 🙂
