An Insider’s Guide to Dylan Keith Salon

Posted on November 25, 2014 | Filed Under: Mommy Stuff | Tags: Burbank Full-Service Salon, Dylan Keith Salon, Kristin Perkins hair stylist | Leave a Comment

Recently one morning, after I popped my contact lenses in, I briefly stared in the mirror & noticed that my skin was looking a little dull. I realized that in a few days, I would be attending a party & my skin needed a little help. Fortunately I had booked a facial at Dylan Keith Salon for later in the week so that I could get that smooth, glowing skin 24 hours before the party.

Dylan Keith Salon is located on pedestrian-friendly Magnolia Blvd. in Burbank, just one block away from Porto’s Bakery. About five years ago, Kristin Perkins opened this salon. She is active in the community & often participates in Magnolia Park’s Ladies’ Night Out. (By the way, I’ve heard these monthly events are not just for ladies, but in fact very family friendly!) The spirit of this neighborhood salon is very welcoming. Sure they may perform services & treatments for celebrities since the entertainment studios are right around the corner; however, it’s Kristin’s view that every customer is on the A-list!

At this full-service salon, they offer: hair services (cut, color, blow outs, etc.), massages, facials, mani/pedis, spray-tanning, make-up & waxing. You name it, Dylan Keith Salon does it!

After I arrived at the Dylan Keith Salon, I checked in with the front desk & was asked to take a seat in the salon’s spacious lobby. I was warmly greeted by Lauren (the salon manager) who asked if I wanted a drink. At Dylan Keith Salon, customers are offered coffee, tea or water.

As I sipped on my water, I noticed that the salon has a variety of professional quality hair & skin care products. Dermalogica, ENJOY Professional Hair Care, TRESemme, elita Beverly Hills & several other brand names were on display.

Tamara, my facialist, led me to one of the treatment rooms in the back of the salon.

I listened to soothing music while she asked me questions about my skin. For about an hour & a half, Tamara worked on my face, neck, arms & hands. Oh yes, not only does she perform the standard facial treatments (cleansing, mask, steam, etc.) but she gives a light upper-body massage on your neck, arms & hands. I had some tension in my neck earlier, but afterwards I was SO relaxed! Also my arms & hands (a bit dry from the wind & just daily life) were silky smooth after the massage. I walked out of the treatment room & saw that the skin on my face looked smoother & better.

After I changed back into my regular clothes, I passed by their pedicure station. Don’t those chairs look luxurious?!

Towards the front of the salon are the hair stations. At Dylan Keith Salon, not only do they do women’s & men’s haircuts, but children’s cuts as well.

The great thing about Dylan Keith Salon is that they will work within your budget. They offer salon packages that can match (or beat) those pricey salons over on the Westside. Kristin prides herself on giving salon quality services in a friendly environment & will often work on a sliding scale.

With December right around the corner, you should consider Dylan Keith Salon so that you can get holiday ready! For more information on Dylan Keith Salon, check out their website & Facebook page.

Disclosure: No monetary compensation was received for this post. I received a complimentary facial from Dylan Keith Salon which helped facilitate this review. All images & opinions are 100% my own.
