It was about four months ago when I lost my voice. I had just worked back to back events – Friday night at a Burbank street festival & Saturday morning on a rainy cold day at yet another festival but this time in Pasadena. When I got the call Saturday morning to replace a coworker who had flaked out on the event, I just knew that it was going to be an uphill battle to do my job. You see the type of work that I do involves a lot of talking & doing a product demo on a tablet. It was shortly after that experience that I started to get disenchanted with my freelance job. Also my blogging had taken a nosedive for various reasons. I just couldn’t feel excited about writing when I felt an imbalance with my life. I had lost my voice (literally & figuratively).
Fast forward to the IDEA World/BlogFest conference that I attended in July. I had just recently quit my job & I felt like I starting anew. Being in a room that was full of people who were passionate about their goals & working in the fitness &/or social media industry was so empowering. I felt so motivated by speakers like Gabrielle Reece & Anthony Robles.
During the conference, I was also introduced to Momentum Jewelry. They have wrist wraps called Motivate Wraps™ & Foot Notes™ shoe charms with inspirational sayings. I chose this Motivate Wrap because it is my favorite color (eggplant purple) & also the inscription embodies what I’ve gone through in the last 6-12 months & that is to “Believe in yourself” especially when you are feeling challenged by circumstances that seem out of your control.
Now that I am devoting more time to writing & blogging, I feel like I’ve turned a corner & gained some momentum. Things are looking up!
I’ve also signed up for my next 10k, which takes place in May 2016. I enjoy having a fitness goal to work towards. In celebration of that, I am going to wear this shoe charm on my running shoes to remind me that I need to work hard in order to make things happen!
Aren’t these wraps & shoe charms awesome?! Pop on over to Momentum Jewelry’s website & peruse what they have to offer!

Jen, I didn’t know you quitted your job! I hope you are happier now, and doing things you REALLY love.
I love the motivate wrap. I have been looking for something like this. My wrists are so small that regular bracelet usually just fall out of them. With wraps, that should not be a problem. And I love motivational quotes.
Thanks for the chance!

Thanks Anita! I found that when you work at something you love, it doesn’t really feel like work. I’m loving the transition to doing more social media work.
