Admit it, we all enjoy a little pampering now & then. As busy moms, we usually tend to put ourselves last when it comes to leisure activities & good old fashioned fun. However I’m a firm believer in taking some “me time” every now & then to get recharged. What is that saying…a happy wife, happy life? Thankfully my husband supports that attitude, so a few times a year I get to sneak away to a day spa to relax.
For those who live in the San Fernando Valley or Ventura County, we have a great new destination for luxurious pampering – Burke Williams Day Spa in Woodland Hills! I was given a mini tour during the soft opening of the store. It is located on the second floor of The Village at Westfield Topanga, this lovely oasis is sure to give you a day full (or in my case an hour full) of beauty & relaxation.
Isn’t the Burke Williams quiet area so pretty? There are couches where you can sit & relax next to a fireplace, while you wait for your spa technician to welcome you to the back spa area.
There is also a lovely garden room & a section where you can shop for beautiful trinkets (either for yourself or for a friend). The items that were on display would make a great gift!
Unique to this Burke Williams location is their aromatherapy bar. It’s like an apothecary full of jars, essential oils, bath salts & blends! If you are into aromatherapy, this place is like your dream come true!
Another treatment that is unique to the Burke Williams in Woodland Hills is their Blow Dry area. I fell in love with the day spa so much during their mini tour that I came back this past weekend, where I had a complimentary blow out.
Kiara was my stylist & she took great care of me! She has worked at other blow dry hair salons & she said that the main difference between those salons & Burke Williams is that BW uses high end hair care products. The ones she used on my hair were made by Shu Uemura. A blow out at Burke Williams costs about $45 (which is just $5-10 more than your average blow dry bar). After I reviewed their look book, I decided on the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) hair style.
I did tour the spa area, which has a lovely décor. I was told that it is a “Hamptons Beach House” theme…fancy! The treatment rooms, spa waiting area, locker/changing rooms, whirlpools, nail care area, sauna – everything in the spa is super nice & luxurious. I can’t wait to go back for a treatment!
On a side note, this outing wouldn’t have been possible without the help of my awesome babysitter. Hubby had to work that afternoon & my parents weren’t available to babysit my kiddo. Fortunately I have the UrbanSitter app on my phone (which many describe as Uber for babysitters). Just a few taps & BOOM, I had a sitter!
Need a sitter for your next spa trip or girls night out? Well help is just a click away: https://www.urbansitter.com/promo/gift. Type code GIFTJENNIFER & get a $50 UrbanSitter Credit! UrbanSitter has great babysitters. In fact, I have several favorites that I can recommend!
So tell me, when was your last trip to the day spa? Have you ever visited a Burke Williams? There are several throughout SoCal. What would be your ideal treatment at a spa?
Disclosure: No monetary compensation was received for this post. I received a gift certificate for a blow out, which was given out to all attendees at the store soft opening. I was under no obligation to review the spa; however, I wanted to share my awesome experience with my readers! This article does contain an UrbanSitter affiliate link, which means I’ll receive a small commission should you register using my promo code. All images are my own unless otherwise noted. As always, my opinions are 100% my own.

I hear ya! It’s hard to find the time to go to one but please do make sure to carve out some “me time” when you can. You’ll be thankful that you did! 🙂

Thank you Christie! 🙂 BW is a very lovely spa. I could spend the entire upcoming Mother’s Day here (move in for the day)! 😉

I went to a wedding reception last weekend and I have the newly weds a hefty & sexy gift certificate to B&W! 😉 She told me (in confidence) that it was her favorite gift – ha ha ah! I knew how hard and stressful the wedding and parties were to plan, so I know a realistic and useful gift when I see one!

They’ve done a lot of redesign at BW!! I haven’t been to my local BW for a while – about a year and a half and it def does not look like the one in Woodland Hills.
The last time I was at a spa was about a month ago – my ideal spa treatment woudl be a very long deep tissue massage and lounging in the jacuzzi.

Yes, this particular B&W is very upscale, plush & beautiful! The overall look at this mall (The Village) is kinda posh so it’s a great match.
