Have you heard of Cava Grill? It’s a popular chain of fast casual restaurants that was started in Washington, D.C. The food that they serve at Cava Grill is Greek & Mediterranean cuisine. Cava’s first West Coast location happens to be in none other than The Village at Westfield Topanga!
The concept is similar to those pizza places where you pick your item & then order whatever toppings, sauces & meats that you want on top of it. I love those types of fast casual restaurants because the food is fresh, you get to customize what you want on it & it tends to be pretty affordable. In this case, the idea is that you pick your base: salad, grain bowl or the greens + grains seem to be the most popular choices that I saw when I ate here.
I decided to go with the greens + grains, choosing lentils & brown rice to go with my lettuce. I was happy to learn that when you pick your “grains” you can do half & half.
Then it’s time to pick your protein. For my vegetarian friends, you can pick from falafel or roasted seasonal veggies! For those who want meat, you can get spicy lamb meatballs, chicken, grilled meatballs or braised lamb. The braised lamb is very delicious, as is the lamb meatballs!
Then it’s time to pick your dressings. You can choose from eggplant & red pepper yogurt, spicy harissa (there is definitely a “kick” to it!), hummus, crazy feta, tzatziki & roasted red pepper hummus. I got the hummus, crazy feta (if you like feta cheese then you’ll LOVE it) & the tzatziki.
Finally it was time to choose the toppings. You can pick as many as you want!
I also ordered pita chips & got a cucumber mint lime drink. The juices & teas are made fresh daily at Cava Grill.
Overall I really like Cava Grill. You get fresh, healthy food at an affordable price (entrees range from $7.75-8.85). With YogaWorks & the 24-Hour Fitness gym nearby, I can see this place as a favorite among fitness folks. For more information, check out the Cava Grill website & their Facebook page!
I’d also like to mention that Cava Grill will be providing healthy snacks for the event that I am co-hosting with Athleta Woodland Hills! If you’d like to attend it, just grab your FREE ticket from Eventbrite here. Oh & moms, if you need to hire a sitter so that you can come to the event, check out my Facebook event page to get an UrbanSitter promo code!

Sounds delicious! I wish we had one of these where I live.
There is one that should be opening in Westwood soon & I hear they will expand more throughout SoCal as time goes on!
Now I have a plan for lunch!
You should definitely check it out the next time you are in Woodland Hills!
