Who doesn’t love beautiful flowers? Flowers instantly bring a smile to my face & if you speak with interior designers, they’ll tell you that flowers have a way of elevating a room. It’s why luxury hotels always have beautiful floral arrangements in their lobbies. Orchid Republic, a floral boutique located in Sherman Oaks, knows just how powerful flowers can be in everyday life as well as special occasions.
Recently I visited the flower shop & spoke to the co-owners. Carmela De Castro & her business partner Zulema are floral industry veterans. Carmela handles the business side, while Zulema is the head floral designer.
Zulema has been in the industry for 25 years. It was a treat to watch her create a floral arrangement for me in a manner of minutes. Her hands work so fast & her flair for floral arranging is breathtaking!
During my visit, I saw that Orchid Republic had fabulous orchids, roses & even succulents in their shop. Naturally Orchid Republic works with a variety of flowers & when you order from them, you can decide what type of flowers you’d like to have in your arrangement or discuss a particular theme with Carmela. Another option is to order online from their featured collections shown on their website!
Speaking of themes, many of Orchid Republic’s customers are repeat customers who have weekly arrangements delivered to their business or home. Since the entertainment studios are nearby, they are fortunate to have clients like Warner Bros., Walt Disney Studios, CBS Studios & Universal Studios. However, a good deal of their clients are ones who want custom floral arrangements in their home – whether it’s for a special occasion like a dinner party or anniversary. Orchid Republic will also occasionally work on special events (corporate parties, weddings, etc.).
No matter if you are a business or just someone walking off the street who needs flowers, Orchid Republic cares about your needs. They do get several clients from word of mouth referrals & this is one client (me) who is totally in love with what they create! Not only was I gifted the fabulous arrangement that was shown in the beginning of this article but since my birthday was coming up, Carmela & her team created this lovely arrangement for me too!
