Did you know that Friday, July 31st is National Avocado Day? There are folks, myself included, who like to eat the avocado as is – simply slice it open, remove the pit, add a dash of salt & pepper, then scoop it straight into your mouth! However, my favorite way to enjoy avocado is when it is made into guacamole.

On these warm summer days, it’s nice to eat outdoors when the sun starts to set, and the temperatures drop a little. Recently we picked up some food from Rubio’s Coastal Grill and dined al fresco in our backyard! The chips and guacamole that you see in the picture are the exact size of the free ones that Rubio’s is giving away on Friday!

My family loves Rubio’s fish tacos, lobster burritos (seasonal item), and Wild-Caught Shrimp and Mexican Street Corn Bowl. If you’re in the mood for Rubio’s food this week, make sure to order it on Friday (7/31), when you can take advantage of the FREE Chips & Guac Day!
Rubio’s guacamole is made fresh daily using rich Hass avocados, cilantro, garlic, lime juice, and natural sea salt. All you have to do is redeem the coupon on their website (https://www.rubios.com/coupons/national-avocado-day) at any of Rubio’s participating locations.

A quick note about the operations at Rubio’s Coastal Grill: While food safety and cleanliness have always been a top priority at Rubio’s, new initiatives include tamper-proof seals on all delivery orders, daily health checks for all team members, protective face coverings and gloves, extensive sanitizing and disinfecting of restaurants and patios, as well as strict social distancing protocols inside and outside.
Customers are encouraged to order through the Rubio’s app and their website. The restaurant offers take-out, contact-free curbside pick-up, and free delivery (on all orders of $20 or more).
