Rubio’s Celebrates National Shrimp Day with $6 Shrimp Entrées!

Posted on May 7, 2020 | Filed Under: Food | Tags: National Shrimp Day, Rubio's, Rubio's Coastal Grill, shrimp entrees | 2 Comments

I love a good food holiday and with Cinco de Mayo behind us, we have another fun holiday to look forward to – National Shrimp Day! Fun Fact: Americans eat more shrimp than any other seafood. Remember that guy from the “Forrest Gump” movie who loved to eat shrimp? This festive food celebration is clearly his holiday!

National Shrimp Day is celebrated on May 10th, which coincidentally falls on Mother’s Day this year. If you’re like me, the best Mother’s Day gift is one that allows me to take the day off from cooking!

Our friends at Rubio’s have cooked up an amazing deal to celebrate. On Saturday, May 9 and again on Mother’s Day, May 10, every shrimp entrée is just $6.

The offer includes all of Rubio’s shrimp taco plates, burritos, bowls and salads, including the Wild-Caught Shrimp and Mexican Street Corn bowl and two taco plate, the Classic Shrimp Burrito and California Bowl with Shrimp.

You can’t go to Rubio’s without eating their fish tacos! My daughter got the two fish taco plate.

I really wanted to try their new entree which is the Wild-Caught Shrimp and Mexican Street Corn Bowl. It’s delicious and the shrimp sits on a bed of citrus rice topped with Mexican street corn, cotija cheese, chile lime tajin, creamy chipotle sauce, sliced Haas avocado, cilantro &, onion, black beans, and cilantro lime mojo sauce. It’s everything that I want in a bowl – protein, carbs, veggies & spices! You can feel the heat with every bite.

My husband ordered the new Wild-Caught Shrimp & Mexican Street Corn Two Taco Plate. It tasted like my shrimp bowl but it had more of a “kick” to it which I attribute to the adobo rojo sauce. It tasted very good with their chips and beans.

A quick note about Rubio’s shrimp. It is responsibly sourced and marinated in a blend of ancho chilies, garlic, cilantro, olive oil and lime. I highly recommend their shrimp entrées, especially since they are having a good deal this weekend.

So how do you take advantage of this deal? Simply enter the coupon code MKTG921 with your order through the Rubio’s app, and online at Rubios.com. If you want to view the coupon, click over to https://rubios.com/coupons/national-shrimp-day and download it.
