What is Fat Leaf Water? Fat Leaf Water is a sports drink that consists of Prickly Pear juice (i.e. cactus-water) and is packed with antioxidants, electrolytes, Vitamin C, minerals, and Taurine.
I’ve had beverages that contained Prickly Pear cactus juice in the past. The difference between that drink and this one is that Fat Leaf Water contains Taurine which is an is an herbal supplement that has been linked to improved exercise performance. Now I am not a doctor, so I can’t comment on the health claims but I can tell you what Fat Leaf Water tastes like!
My family and I did a taste test. First up is the Rimrock Red flavor. This berry prickly pear cactus tapped water drink contains raspberry juice, lemon juice, blueberry juice, Taurine, and Stevia. Overall this was my family’s favorite flavor and it’s mostly likely because of all the berry juices included in the mixture, as well as the Stevia (a sugar substitute that comes from a plant).
Next is the Mojave Citrus, which I sampled after an hour-long walk around my neighborhood. In addition to the prickly pear juice, the beverage contains blood orange and lemon juices, Taurine, turmeric, black pepper, and Stevia.
This was my second favorite of the 3 flavors. My husband said it reminded him of salsa. Maybe it’s from the lemon juice, black pepper, and turmeric? Not sure, lol! I enjoyed the drink and it was just what I needed after a workout.
Turmeric is a spice that is often used in curries and stews. The natural health benefits (which you can read about here on Healthline), have made it one of those go-to spices that many health & wellness folks reach for!
Last but not least, is the KeyLime Mirage flavor. This drink contains prickly pear juice, Meyer lemon and Key lime juices, Taurine, and Stevia. This was my family’s least favorite drink. Although in all fairness, I thought it was ok. If you are used to drinking green juices, then you’ll probably like the KeyLime Mirage flavor.
Fat Leaf Water is not yet available for purchase. The company had initially kicked off a crowdfunding campaign but the Kickstarter project is on pause for now, out of respect for this challenging time in our nation.

These flavors sound so interesting. I want to try them all. I would start with Key Lime Mirage first I think.
