LA Zoo Lights is back once again after a brief hiatus in 2020. From now until January 9th, you can see all your favorite attractions from glowing animals to the LA Zoo’s Twinkle Tunnel!
Last month my family visited the LA Zoo. It was our first time being back since December 2019 and we had such a great time!
Now at this time of night, the animals are not viewable since they are sleeping in their special quarters. However there are plenty of glowing animals to see!
The LA Zoo offers a soundtracked LED lightshow near the LAIR –the Living Amphibians Invertebrates and Reptiles exhibit.
The most popular part of the LA Zoo Lights attraction is their Twinkle Tunnel featuring three progressive light experiences. It’s the area that is just prime for Instagrammable moments!
Other fan favorites include the Luminous LAIR, Disco Ball Forest, and more! Feeling cold or thirsty? The LA Zoo offers hot cocoa and other yummy holiday goodies every night, plus full bars on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays for adults!
Now make sure to buy your tickets soon because these tend to go fast! The parking is free and LA Zoo Lights will be available until January 9th.
Know Before You Go
We felt safe walking around the zoo. Guests 12 and older must provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of entering the Zoo. Since my husband and I are over 18, we were required to show a matching photo I.D. so that a zoo employee could verify.
Face coverings are required for all guests aged 2 and older in indoor and enclosed public settings, such as the LAIR. Since mostly everything is outdoors, we felt fine to briefly remove our masks for photo taking.
LA Zoo Lights will be on display from 6-10pm nightly through January 9th. Please note that some dates are closed due to the holidays. Check the LA Zoo website here for details & ticket pricing. Thank you, LA Zoo, for hosting me and my family!
