LA Zoo Lights is back once again & it is so illuminating! Last month my family attended the opening night festivities & it was amazing.
LA Dodgers Justin Turner, Chris Sullivan from “This Is Us” & actress Carolyn Hennesy from “General Hospital” helped light up the LA Zoo’s Holiday Tree.
Prior to Good Day LA anchor Julie Chang’s interview with the celebrities, the crowd was treated to the Tinseltone Carolers, an acapella group singing holiday tunes!
The beautiful Christmas tree lit up the LA Zoo’s entryway!
Over in Reindeer Village, we saw reindeers & beautiful lights. There is also a kiosk where you could buy hot cocoa & churros.
From there we headed on over to the Luminous LAIR, At this time of night, most of the L.A. Zoo’s animal residents are asleep. However, there are a few that are awake such as the ones at the LAIR.
Near the LAIR is the Lightscapes Water Show. The music & lights show is fab!
My favorite part of the LA Zoo Lights is walking through the Twinkle Tunnel.
However, before we entered the tunnel, we were wowed by two entertainers who performed with what looked like glow-in-the-dark batons or hula hoops!
The LA Zoo is transformed into a holiday wonderland with a disco ball forest, whimsical 3D animations, a glowing “Northern Lights” featuring animal constellations that come to life & much more! They even have light up dreidels.
Take note SoCal friends- during the daytime, our SoCal temps are somewhat moderate but in the evening the temperature drop down to cold temps. Make sure to bundle up if you go to the LA Zoo Lights since you’ll be walking around outdoors for a few hours. It’s a totally great way to spend a fun LA evening outdoors! All in all, my family had a blast & I highly recommend this family-friendly event!
LA Zoo Lights will be on display from 6-10pm nightly through January 6th. Please note that some dates are closed due to the holidays. Check the LA Zoo Lights website here for ticket pricing & other details.
