When I turned 50 years old last year, I noticed that certain daily activities and weekly fitness classes were hitting my body differently. I started to feel more aches and pains after strength training classes. Also when I woke up in the morning, I sometimes felt stiff in my shoulders, feet and hands until I did stretching exercises. Was it just me? Nope! Apparently fitness at 50 is different from your 30s and 40s, because I did some research and reading this article on the Oprah website confirmed it.
Over the past year or so, I’ve discovered products that people of all ages can use. Check out the list below!
This is the first foam roller made with algae and recycled materials. I just love the color too! My legs feel tight after strength training, so it’s nice to use the foam roller to get muscle relief.
As someone who suffers from plantar fasciitis, I’ve found great support with these Protalus T-100 Elite Insoles. The insoles can be worn in athletic shoes, casual shoes and even hiking boots! The T-100 provides comfort and much needed stability.
Mabel’s Labels Water Bottle Bands
We all know that it is important to hydrate before, during and after a workout. So why not personalize your water bottle with a water bottle band? This band ensures that your bottle stands out in a crowd! Finally, no water bottle mix-ups at school or at the gym. The band is reusable and dishwasher safe. Also the silicone band provides a better grip so that it won’t slip out of your sweaty hands.
iLive Waterpoof Truly Wireless Earbuds
Do you ever worry about my earbuds falling out while working out or jogging? iLive’s Waterproof Truly Wireless Earbuds come with a sporty hook design that keeps earbuds in place. The wireless capability is up to 49 feet. I’ve made phone calls using these earbuds and the sound was clear as a whistle. The earbuds are waterproof and even sweatproof! The earbuds come with 3 sizes of eartips for a comfortable and customized fit.
The GiBoard is an innovative and fun balance trainer. Safe for all ages, the GiBoard incorporates the sport of slacklining and the exercises that you do on this board strengthens your mobility and stability. I’ve used it to do push-ups, balance exercises, side planks, and more! GiBoard’s website has tutorials and even exercise cards that you can download.
Carmel Berry’s Immune Support Elderberry Gummies
You might be wondering why I included an elderberry gummy in this list. Fitness at 50 also means doing things to keep your immune system strong. Elderberries are high in antioxidants and provide immune support. Carmel Berry uses zero refined sweeteners and sources their elderberry’s from farms located in the United States. Their gummies are vegan and gelatin-free.
I hope you find this round-up of items beneficial to your health and fitness journey!
