“Send Help” is a dark comedy and psychological thriller directed by Sam Raimi. It stars Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien.
The film opens with Linda Liddle (Rachel McAdams) navigating her workday. She’s an earnest, hard worker who struggles to find her place within a company culture dominated by an aggressive “boys’ club” mentality. It also doesn’t help that she works for Bradley Preston (Dylan O’Brien), a mean boss who is a nepo baby.
Linda joins Bradley on a business trip, but when their plane crashes near a remote island, the roles reverse. Linda emerges as a natural-born survivalist, adapting to the new harsh environment with ease.
When two business colleagues become stranded on a deserted island as the only survivors of a plane crash, they must overcome past grievances and work together to stay alive. But they’re not in the office anymore, and an unsettling, wryly humorous battle of wills and wits begins in this original, darkly comedic psychological thriller.
The film’s twists and turns will keep you on the edge of your seat. Come for the suspense and stay for the manic humor!
“Send Help” is available on Digital to purchase and starting today, April 21st, you can also pick it up on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD! Both the digital and Blu-ray versions have tons of special features. I enjoyed diving into the bonus content, especially the bloopers! It’s so funny watching actors break character and laugh, particularly when they are filming such unhinged scenes!
Music plays an integral part in horror films. There’s a featurette highlighting Danny Elfman’s account of collaborating with Sam Raimi that I found so fascinating. Hearing a musical genius like Elfman detail his insights was such a treat!
