Chain’s Pop-Up at Westfield Topanga

Chain is a pop-up restaurant concept conceived by actor B.J.Novak (The Devil Wears Prada 2). Driven by his love for chain restaurants, Novak partnered with Chef Tim Hollingsworth to create gourmet versions of fast-food classics.

Last December, I attended Chain’s Holiday House where they had festive drinks from Dutch Bros, potato pancakes from Heinz, bone marrow burgers, ice cream cones from Friendly’s, and more!

My first ever Chain experience was the October 2024 ChainFest LA. This foodie event took place in Downtown Los Angeles at Row DTLA.

So when I heard the news that Chain was going to have a 6-month pop-up at my local mall, Westfield Topanga, I was thrilled!

You see, earlier this year, several food stalls closed at Topanga Social. I attended the grand opening of Topanga Social in May 2023, and while I was sad about the closures, I knew that something bigger would take its place.

The space was perfect for Chain’s pop-up concept – Chain at the Mall. Now you can get your favorite mall food elevated by Kogi’s Roy Choi, Mei Lin (winner of Top Chef), and more!

Chain at the Mall is open now through February 2027. Additional food offerings include desserts made with General Mills cereals, and a Cheez-It collaboration. Take note, cheesy fans, the Cheez-It collab runs through September 30th!

Standouts for me are the Mapo Wagyu Cruncho Perfecto, Crunchy Cheez-Dog, and the Golden Grahams Toasted S’Mores Bar!

💢 Chain at the Mall ~ Everything we tried from Eat @Chain at Westfield Topanga. The Charred Chicken Teriyaki Bowl from Roy Choi (Kogi BBQ founder) was good, but we felt it needed more heat or seasoning. Our favorite was the Mapo Wagyu Cruncho Perfecto from Top Chef’s Mei Lin. It’s so tasty! I liked the Cheez-It Corn Dog and we both loved the Golden Grahams Toasted S’mores Bar. #SFV #ChainAtTheMall #WestfieldTopanga #TopangaSocial #EatAtChain

While the food is priced higher than your average food court, it’s a fun and tasty experience. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend checking it out!
