This post was written by guest contributor Catheryn Cervantes. The LA Zoo has had a bit of a makeover for Halloween.  During the entire month of October, visit the Los Angeles Zoo for a fun filled day with the animals and some creepy critters too. Boo at the Zoo is all new this year with a full month of storytelling, animal feedings, crafts, run ins with strolling characters plus a whole lot more. We attended opening weekend and were able to … [Read more...]

Burke Williams Day Spa – Woodland Hills

Posted on October 6, 2015 | Filed Under: Misc, Mommy Stuff | Tags: Burke Williams Day Spa, The Village at Westfield Topanga, Woodland Hills Day Spa | 12 Comments

Admit it, we all enjoy a little pampering now & then. As busy moms, we usually tend to put ourselves last when it comes to leisure activities & good old fashioned fun. However I’m a firm believer in taking some “me time” every now & then to get recharged. What is that saying…a happy wife, happy life? Thankfully my husband supports that attitude, so a few times a year I get to sneak away to a day spa to relax. For those who live in … [Read more...]

Scarium of the Pacific – Trick or Treat at the Aquarium

Posted on October 5, 2015 | Filed Under: Local Events | Tags: Aquarium of the Pacific, Long Beach Trick or Treating, Scarium of the Pacific | 17 Comments

Halloween is around the corner & for parents, that means two things – oh geez, what costume am I going to make/buy my child and where do we go for trick or treating? I barely passed my Home Economics class (do they even have Home Ec or is it called “Life Skills” class?), so I can’t sew my daughter’s costume. So off to the pop-up Halloween costume store I go! As for trick or treating, usually we walk around our neighborhood. In years past, … [Read more...]

Sprouting Threads – Monthly Subscription Box for Children’s Apparel

Shopping for my daughter can be tricky. While she does enjoy pretty & stylish clothes, my kiddo does not enjoy the shopping process of driving to the mall, trying on a bunch of clothes & standing in line with mommy to pay for them. I don’t blame her, I don’t exactly relish it either! ;) However with family & holiday events on the horizon & the new Fall season coming up (although in LA it is not really a cool season) – nonetheless, … [Read more...]

If someone were to ask me what my idea of a perfect day would be (not counting spending time with family), then it would be to get a workout in the morning, shop & then relax at a spa. At Westfield Topanga’s The Village, you can do all of that & more! Need some new fitness clothes? Check out Kate Hudson’s Fabletics store! Are you a big fan of Athleta? Their retail store is across the “hall.” Want to workout at The Village? In addition … [Read more...]

Home Decor Shops at #TheVillageAtWestfieldTopanga

This past weekend I visited The Village at Westfield Topanga which is a brand new outdoor mall in Woodland Hills. It was a perfect morning, started out at my favorite fitness studio in Tarzana, grabbed a skinny latte & then drove about 10 minutes to get to the multi-level parking structure of The Village. Since I arrived around 9am, I was able to park on the first floor & tour around the outdoor mall before the crowds arrived at 10am. … [Read more...]
