Scarium of the Pacific – Trick or Treat at the Aquarium

Posted on October 5, 2015 | Filed Under: Local Events | Tags: Aquarium of the Pacific, Long Beach Trick or Treating, Scarium of the Pacific | 17 Comments

Halloween is around the corner & for parents, that means two things – oh geez, what costume am I going to make/buy my child and where do we go for trick or treating? I barely passed my Home Economics class (do they even have Home Ec or is it called “Life Skills” class?), so I can’t sew my daughter’s costume. So off to the pop-up Halloween costume store I go!

As for trick or treating, usually we walk around our neighborhood. In years past, we’ve gone to a local theme park, local mall and also a local zoo to get free candy (oops, I mean “trick or treat”). The mall is nice since it is light & bright inside so when my daughter was two & younger, she didn’t have to be scared by ghosts or goblins. Depending on the age of your child, you may want to graduate to something more fun such as the Scarium of the Pacific!

At the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, you & your family will be able to:

  • Discover the creatures lurking in the depths at the Aquarium of the Pacific’s 16th annual Scarium of the Pacific—a spooktacular educational Halloween event for the whole family!
  • Enjoy special Halloween programs, including the annual children’s costume contest & the creepy coloring contest.
  • Take part in face painting, magic shows, underwater pumpkin carving, spooky storytelling, kooky crafts, eerie animals in the Great Hall, and much more.

This special event takes place on October 24th & 25th from 9am-5pm. I am personally attending on one of the days & hope you will too!

The funnest thing to do is to let your kids touch the sea animals in the tide pool area inside! So rad!

Best thing – jellyfish!! Ok but now that we have a toddler, it’ll be fun to see the aquarium through her eyes.
