**9/26/16 EDITOR’S NOTE: I was informed via Yelp & also the Fleurish website that the business is closed.**
Remember earlier this month when I introduced you to Amy & Allyson of Fleurish? Fleurish is the first fully dedicated design-it-yourself floral bar & also provides a full floral boutique for arrangements & delivery. The first store opened in Brentwood & now they have a second location in Woodland Hills. Recently my daughter & I took a beginner class, which was so much fun!
When we arrived, we took a seat at their Floral Bar & our instructor handed us our cute Fleurish aprons to wear during the class. Each person is given a set of fresh flower tools to use.
After a brief introduction, we were sent to the refrigerated section at the back of the store to pick out our flowers.
We placed our magnolia leaves inside this sponge-like material that was inside our vase. This material is what beginners use keep their flowers standing up & in position. Another attendee in the class used a different technique which involved a heavy duty floral tape.
Then we added our seeded eucalyptus, two types of orange roses & some fall button mums! Along the way, I could tell that my daughter wanted to do more of the leaf snipping & cutting, so I eventually gave up the scissors (and control) & just let her go at it!
Then it was time to mist our flowers with a special spray so that they would stay dewy fresh!
If you don’t want to take a group class, you can also purchase these kits online & pick them up at the store or have them delivered to your home OR to a friend’s home as a gift!
If you decide to pick up the kit in-store, then you can book a seat at the Floral Bar & arrange the flowers by yourself. At Fleurish, they even have this handy dandy tablet with iFleur step-by-step tutorials so that you can watch the video, pause it, arrange your flowers & then keep going. What a clever idea!
At Fleurish, you can book an event, girls night out floral design parties & even kids birthday parties! I might just throw an event her myself! 🙂
Speaking of GNOs, I know moms out there are probably in need of a fun ladies night out. What better way than to gather a few friends, meet at the Village for pre-event drinks & dinner, then move on to Fleurish where you can create a beautiful arrangement! I know that for some moms, getting a sitter is part of the “battle” in planning these fun evening events. Well, I’ve got you covered because with UrbanSitter, you can spring into action & get that ladies night out covered!
