Not all socks are created equal. When I ran my very first 5k, I wore basic white athletic socks. As I started running more 5ks & then later graduated to doing 10k races, I began to develop plantar fasciitis. After consulting with fellow runners & even a podiatrist, I started investing in a few items: KT Tape, knee high compression socks, running shoe insoles & now my latest addition – performance socks made by Fitsok.
Admittedly there are a thousand different running socks out on the market. Fitsok is designed with support in mind for runners who want a supportive fit around the arch. That’s key for someone like me who has plantar fasciitis. Fitsok developed an “engineered heel” in their socks, which basically means that the heel part is reinforced in such a way that will help stabilize ankle support. Another plus is that Fitsok is manufactured so that there is a contoured fit in the toe area, which will eliminate bunched up socks in the toe box of your running shoe. Don’t you just hate that?!
I used the F4 Performance Tech Socks, which are the white & gray socks that you see in the above photo. The honeycomb weave of the material is designed to wick away moisture. Dry feet equals happy feet in my book! Also these Performance Tech socks are marked “L” or “R” on each sock. The F4 socks are designed & manufactured “Left/Right” for a precise fit.
I also tried out the CF2 Shadow Yarn Athletic Sock, which comes in gray with three different accent colors. See the ribbing in the middle of each sock? It has the accent color in the stitching down the middle? It’s not just for looks, but rather this is the Max Arch Support, something that my foot desperately needs when running. This design helps alleviate foot fatigue by providing a supportive fit around the arch.
These socks are now my go-to sock when I go jogging. Also if I’m working out at Orangetheory Fitness then I definitely use a Fitsok, since we spend at least 24-30 minutes on the treadmill. The CF2 Shadow Yarn Sock is cushioned really well because it is thicker than F4 Performance Tech Socks.
One of the cool things about Fitsok is that when you purchase their socks, you aren’t just getting one pair, they always come in a 3-pack! If you run or workout 3-5 times a week, then a 3-pack is just what you need, am I right?! If you want more details on Fitsok & retailer locations, check out their website.

I get dark really easily so I’d have a white band around my ankles if I wore crew socks 🙂

I like them to come up just long enough to cover against any rubbing from the shoe, but not too tall, except having a pair or two long for boots.
