I must admit, when I hear the familiar strains of “Waltz of the Flowers” from The Nutcracker, I instantly think back to my childhood. The Nutcracker is a classic holiday ballet that has been charming audiences for many decades. I was thrilled to find out that the California Dance Academy and Dance Ensemble, a non-profit dance performance organization based in the San Fernando Valley, is going to be presenting their annual Nutcracker performance later this month in Calabasas.
It is thrilling to dance on stage, as well as to watch a live performance! I took ballet as a child, as did my daughter for a few years. I am happy to support programs like the California Dance Academy which challenges, inspires & prepares students in their pursuit of dance & art.
