On a recent outing to Thousand Oaks, I stopped by Sharky’s Woodfired Mexican Grill with my family to grab some lunch. Located in the Janss Marketplace on Moorpark Road, it’s about a mile away from The Oaks Mall where we had just been shopping at the Disney Store.
The main reason why I like eating at Sharky’s is its commitment to serving healthy & fresh food. They aim to buy local whenever possible & source natural, organic ingredients. Also the fish at Sharky’s is “wild caught.” So whether you are eating a Wild Salmon Burrito or a fish taco, it is always wild caught – meaning that it is premium grade catch of the day.
After I looked over the menu, I decided on the Wild Caught Wild Salmon Power Plate. I chose the organic quinoa with veggies and organic Yucatan yams as my sides.
My daughter ordered a cheese quesadilla from the kids menu. It came with organic rice & organic beans. Added bonus is that the quesadilla was made with a whole wheat tortilla!
Hubby got the tostada salad with chicken. It came with organic greens, organic rice & beans, cabbage, carrots, tomatoes, cheese, guacamole, pico de gallo & or course, sour cream! Had I ordered the salad, I would have omitted the sour cream, but that’s just me. 🙂
Of course a trip to Sharky’s wouldn’t be complete without some chips & guacamole!
Sharky’s serves tacos that you can get with soft corn or flour tortilla. They also have burritos, fajita bowls & even stone fired pizza! We’ll just have to go back another day to try the other items.
The Sharky’s in Thousand Oaks has ample seating inside & a really nice outdoor patio. For restaurant location & hours, check out the Sharky’s Woodfired Mexican Grill website!
