The 54th Annual Watermelon Festival takes place August 13 & 14, at Hansen Dam Soccer Field in Lake View Terrace. This fun, family-friendly event will have free watermelon, delicious foods, games, contests, entertainment, a Kids Zone with carnival rides & attractions, and much more!
Family fun activities include:
- Watermelon Carving Contest
- Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest at the “Spitway”

My daughter can’t wait to go to the Kids Zone, where they will have fun carnival rides & midway games. Be on the lookout for the Melon-dramatic Children’s Theater, where they will have puppet shows & an interactive crafts area. There’s also a zip line, rock climbing wall, bouncy pit, laser tag & face painting!
Festivities also include a marketplace with an array of eclectic arts & crafts exhibitors and vendor booths, carving demonstrations, a battle of the bands, plus strolling performers!
Speaking of performances, on both Saturday & Sunday, the festival will have a variety of musical acts on Firepoint Stage throughout the day. The music ranges from classic rock tributes to great original acts featuring Latin, pop, funk, R&B, blues, doo wop, Motown, jazz, Caribbean, rock & more!
