Posted on October 11, 2016 | Filed Under: Local Events | Tags: Discovery Cube Los Angeles, LEGO Travel Adventure Exhibit, Spooky Science | Leave a Comment

Discovery Cube LA is scaring up some Spooky Science fun every weekend in October! Recently my daughter & I visited the popular kids educational museum that is located near the Hansen Dam Recreational Area in the San Fernando Valley. We got to preview the Spooky Science exhibit & the new LEGO Travel Adventure exhibit that will be on display from now until January 2017!

On Spooky Science weekends, you’ll get to learn fun facts about spooky animals like snakes, bats & turtles.

You’ll even have the opportunity to make a “spooky” craft!

On Spooky Science weekends, Discovery Cube LA will host a special costume theme where guests are encouraged to dress up. Here is what to expect for the rest of the month!

Spooky Science - Calendar

October 15 & 16 – Community Leaders Weekend
Discovery Cube pays homage to the local community service members and leaders who help make our world a better place. From police officers and fire fighters, to community leaders and public servants, hear their stories and ask questions, plus come dressed in real life hero gear!

October 22 & 23 – Sci-Fi Weekend
Visit the Cube dressed as your favorite sci-fi character and visit with the R2-D2 club, plus many other space and sci-fi enthusiasts.

October 29-31 – Halloween Weekend
Wear your favorite Halloween costume and participate in the Spooky Science activities, watch the Wizard of Ooze stage show, learn about turtles and snakes, and more!

On the second floor of the museum is the LEGO Travel Adventure exhibit. Kids of all ages can build vehicles that drive, fly or float!

You can build a car out of DUPLO blocks & race it down the track.

Build a vehicle with pieces from popular LEGO toy sets, then photograph it against a special “green screen” & share it via email to family or friends!

My kiddo had fun building a virtual LEGO vehicle & taking the Travel Challenge to see if her creation can handle the travel over bridges, through lava, swamps, rivers & oceans.

You can also view cool creations by LEGO Master Builders!
