The holidays are around the corner & I wanted to share with you my toy guide for the season that highlights Disney, Star Wars & Marvel toys.
Do you remember a few months ago when I visited Walt Disney Animation Studios to support their DVD release of Solo: A Star Wars Story? It was during that visit that I had the opportunity to check out a few Han Solo & Chewbacca novelty items.
Let’s take a look at some of the hottest toys & gadgets from Star Wars, Disney & Marvel!
Star Wars Ultimate Co-Pilot Chewie
This little guy (well actually he is pretty big at 16 inches tall!) has more than 100 sound & motion combinations. The Ultimate Co-Pilot Chewie has signature Wookiee-talk back interaction & will respond to external movements & sounds. This furry guy features poseable legs & can respond to a variety of facial expressions & noises.
Chewbacca Electronic Mask
Remember that lady on YouTube who couldn’t get enough of that Chewbacca Electronic Mask? Just take a look at the video & you’ll see what I mean.
Enough said…
Star Wars: HAN SOLO Card Game
Challenge your inner Jedi to outwit your opponents by playing this card game that is perfect for 2-4 players. The game includes 62 HAN SOLO cards, 24 cardboard bounty tokens & 2 dice.
SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY Nerf Glowstrike Han Solo Blaster
Recommended for 6 years & up, this blaster features a 4-dart internal clip with lights & sounds. You can even fire darts from 70 feet away! Your littles will be able to play from dawn to dusk with these glow-in-the-dark darts & Glowstrike technology.
Star Wars: Han Solo Force Link 2.0 Mission on Vandor Figures
Includes 4 figures, 8 accessories & instructions. When your little ones wear their Force Link wearable technology (sold separately) & play with these figures, then they can activate figure phrases & sounds. Pretty cool!
Earlier this year, my family watched a preview of Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors.
Check out all of these fun toys that are perfect for your Marvel Rising fan!
Ms. Marvel Action Figure
Kamala Khan is an avid learner & Super Hero super fan. She trains hard to master her super-powered strength & flexibility as Ms. Marvel.
America Chavez Action Figure
America is fiercely independent & has dimension-hopping abilities. On the Marvel Rising show, this Secret Warrier flys at superhuman speeds.
Marvel’s Quake Action Figure
Otherwise known as Daisy Johnson, this Secret Warrior is a skilled spy & agent. She wears a special gauntlet to channel her powers, but in reality she can make the earth shake without any gadgets!
Slightly going off-topic, but still related to this blog post is the reason why I called the above Marvel Rising products “action figures” as opposed to “dolls.” Having worked in the toy industry for several years (in a previous career), I know that “dolls” are marketed to girls & “action figures” are considered to be any poseable doll marketed to boys. But why is that? Action figures generally are characters who can blow stuff up, have weapons or accessories & are action-oriented. These three poseable figures, Ms. Marvel, America Chavez & Marvel’s Quake, have super powers & gadgets to enhance their impressive capabilities.
I’m really glad that Marvel creatives, Mairghread Scott & Cort Lane created a TV show that highlights dynamic characters that deal with female empowerment. Consequently, the toys & action figures from Marvel Rising will hopefully encourage young girls (and boys) to discover their inner Secret Warrior!
Semantics aside, on a lighter note, how cute is this giant plush toy of Lockjaw? I don’t think this is for sale, but boy would I love to have this in my home! 😉
I hope you’ve found this Holiday Toy Guide helpful. Happy shopping!
