Finca Paso Robles {Foodie Review}

Posted on February 3, 2022 | Filed Under: Food | Tags: Finca, Finca Paso Robles, Paso Market Walk, Paso Robles restaurants | Leave a Comment

Last month, on my way back home to LA from Carmel, I visited Finca Paso Robles for lunch. Now for those who are unfamiliar with Paso Robles, it’s about a 3-hour drive from the San Fernando Valley. The region is known for its many wineries and an awesome light show exhibit called Sensorio.

With its close proximity to the Monterey Bay area, about a 2-hour drive from Carmel, stopping in at Finca Paso Robles was a perfect place for a bite to eat!

Finca is located in a historic hacienda-styled farmhouse within walking distance of the Paso Market Walk.

The Mexican restaurant opened in May 2021 with a menu that draws on flavors and cooking styles from Baja and Sonora.

My parents and I started off with the carne asada chip salad (aka nachos). It was really tasty and I had to pace myself because I knew that there was more yummy food in store for us.

My dad ordered the wood grilled Spanish octopus. It’s served with Romesco sauce and a side salad with pickled veggies.

Wood Grilled Octopus

I took a few bites of octopus and it is so tender and flavorful, having been marinated in garlic and herbs. Honestly you can eat it by itself, but I have to say the Romesco sauce added a nice kick to it! My dad, having grown up in Hawaii, loves seafood and thought the octopus tasted excellent. He made sure to tell the co-owner, Diego, how much he liked it before we left.

My mom ordered the carne asada burrito. The burrito is huge and packed with Sonora style wood-grilled steak, beans, cilantro rice, onions and guacamole salsa. My mom really liked it!

Last, but not least, I enjoyed the pepita avocado salad with baja fish. It’s made with mixed greens, sliced avocado, toasted pepitas, red onion, a lime vinaigrette and topped with fish. I thought it was delicious!

The restaurant serves beer, wine, agua frescas, soft drinks and water.

There is indoor dining, but the patio and wraparound porch offers plenty of outdoor seating.
