Turtle Tale poster

Recently I was invited to a Turtle Tale event to support the DVD, Digital and On Demand release of Turtle Tale: Live-Action Feature. My daughter & I arrived at Reptacular Animals in the mountains above Sylmar (a Los Angeles suburb in the San Fernando Valley) for an afternoon of fun featuring hands-on interaction with turtles, tortoises & turtle crafts. First up…we met Jungle Jane of Reptacular Animals who schooled us in the … [Read more...]

Ocean's 8 ArcLight Hollywood

I’m starting a new segment on my blog called Thursday Thoughts. Instead of focusing a blog post on one topic, Thursday Thoughts will be a collection of random thoughts/musings for the week. I’m not sure yet if it will be weekly or bi-weekly, but in any case - here we go! Ocean’s 8 A couple of weeks ago, I went with my sister-in-law to watch an early screening of “Ocean’s 8.” We both liked the movie. The actresses all gave great … [Read more...]

Incredibles 2 Poster

The Incredibles are back & better than ever! It was 14 years ago that the first “Incredibles” movie came out & the audience was introduced to Mr. Incredible, Helen (aka Elastigirl), Violet, Dash & Jack-Jack. “Incredibles 2” picks up right where the first one ended. Although the characters haven’t aged one bit, the roles have changed with Helen leading the charge while Bob stays home with the kids. In “Incredibles 2,” … [Read more...]

Wrinkle in Time Blu-ray

I received a complimentary copy of "A Wrinkle in Time" as well as promotional items which helped facilitate this blog post. All opinions are my own. My daughter completed her finals last week & what better way to celebrate the end of a school year than a fun family movie night! Having read A Wrinkle in Time several months ago, she was excited to see how the movie translated to the screen. One of the neat things about having a family … [Read more...]

Queen Sugar Nischelle Turner and panel

During PaleyFest, I learned that season 3 of Queen Sugar will have a special two-night premiere on Tuesday, May 29 & Wednesday, May 30. The hour-plus interview between host Nischelle Turner (Entertainment Tonight reporter) & the cast & producers of Queen Sugar, revealed a great deal. Now I’ve been a huge fan of Queen Sugar since the very beginning. The TV series premiered on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) back in September … [Read more...]

Tully Charlize Theron_01024_R

Tully is film that takes an unflinching look at motherhood. Recently I watched an early screening, along with other mom bloggers & influencers at a special event in Culver City. Charlize Theron plays Marlo, a harried mom of two children with a baby on the way. We see her going through the motions of making dinner, school pick-up & drop-off. As she gets closer to her due date, you can see the exhaustion written all over her face, … [Read more...]
