Meet Kristine de la Cruz of Crème Caramel LA

Posted on September 17, 2014 | Filed Under: Real Moms of the SFV | Tags: Crème Caramel LA, Kristine de la Cruz, Sherman Oaks bakery | 3 Comments

In November 2013, I visited Crème Caramel LA in Sherman Oaks with my daughter. The bakery is known for their delicious sweet treats such as bread puddings, crème caramels & my favorite Ube Upside Down Pie! During my visit to the store, I had the pleasure of meeting the owner & baker, Kristine de la Cruz. She is Filipina (just like me) & when Typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines last year, she donated her baked goods to a charity … [Read more...]

Time for Three CD Review + Giveaway

I was recently introduced to the band, Time for Three (Tf3). The members of Time For Three are Nick Kendall - Violin, Zach De Pue - Violin & Ranaan Meyer - Double Bass. They are classically trained string musicians who perform classical music from Bach & Brahms, but then during that same concert will play songs from contemporary artists such as Katy Perry, Kanye West & Justin Timberlake. In fact, it is Time for Three's cover of the … [Read more...]

#Disneyland10k Race Recap + My Birthday Weekend

Posted on September 14, 2014 | Filed Under: Fitness | Tags: Disneyland 10k, Lilo and Stitch, race recap, runDisney | 4 Comments

Two weekends ago I participated in a 10k at Disneyland. It was special for several reasons: it was a runDisney event, it was my very first 10k ever AND it was my birthday weekend. Initially I had wanted to run the Disneyland 10k in 2013 to commemorate my 40th birthday, but by the time I went to register, it was too late & it had sold out. In a way it was a good thing because this year’s 10k race theme happened to be Lilo & … [Read more...]

Meet Lara Bojarsky of AYM Alliance Inc.

Posted on September 10, 2014 | Filed Under: Real Moms of the SFV | Tags: AYM Alliance Inc., Lara Bojarsky, recruiting firm | 2 Comments

It was exactly three years ago that I met Lara Bojarsky. I had interviewed for a position at her company & had been hired to start shortly after Labor Day weekend. The company (a recruiting firm) was based in the Warner Center area of Woodland Hills, a place that I was very familiar with since I had worked for at least three other companies within a one-mile radius in the last 12 years. The job was part-time & a good fit for me since my … [Read more...]

I love a good smoothie, especially as a post-workout treat or even as something to drink in the morning while I do school drop off. That’s why I was very intrigued when I heard about Berry Bliss Superfood Blend created by Philosophie. What is a Superfood Blend? Superfood powders are blends of the very best plant-based materials on earth. Superfoods are vitamin & mineral-dense substances prized for their unique nutrient profiles & … [Read more...]

Workout Like a Cheerleader with Lithe Method

Posted on September 8, 2014 | Filed Under: Fitness | Tags: Lauren Boggi, Lithe Method, Palihouse | 1 Comment

Last month I attended a very fun workout session at the Palihouse in West Hollywood. Lauren Boggi, the creator of Lithe Method, was in Los Angeles for two days as part of her worldwide Lithe Tour 2014. Lauren & her Lithe Method crew had been globetrotting - teaching Lauren's Cardio-Cheer-Sculpting® (CCS) fitness classes in cities such as Seoul, Shanghai, Philadelphia & finally they were here in LA! I was really excited to attend the … [Read more...]
