There’s a lot of noise in the media right now about the diet and weight-loss culture. I’m not going to claim that I haven’t fallen down that rabbit hole or have wondered whether I should get that “magic shot” that everyone across America (and not just rich celebrities) seems to be getting. I also don’t think that people should be vilified if they do decide to go that route because if it works for them and they have a medical team or doctor … [Read more...]
‘Babes’ Movie Review: An Ode to Friendship and Pregnancy
Last week I saw an early screening of Babes, starring Ilana Glazer and Michelle Buteau. Not only is Ilana a lead actress in the film, but she also co-wrote the screenplay with Josh Rabinowitz. Babes is director Pamela Adlon’s feature-length directorial debut and the subject matter is one that she is very familiar with. The Eclipse Monday morning started out like it always does – school drop-off, log on to the computer for work, weekly team meeting online and then my coworkers reminded me of the eclipse that was going to happen in 45 minutes. While certain parts of the country … [Read more...]
Meet Erin, Owner & Founder of Cheers to Financial Freedom
In high school, I took a home economics class where we learned about cooking and sewing. How I wish they had taught me about personal finance, like balancing a checkbook, how credit cards work, what is an interest rate, etc. I eventually learned these things in college and young adulthood, but how great would it have been had I attended a formal class or webinar where I could learn about financial planning. Thankfully there is Cheers to Financial … [Read more...]
